When planets between two people don't necessarily make an aspect by degree but are positioned in the same sign, can it still be considered as if they were?

i.e. Person A has Mercury in Libra 28' while Person B has Venus in Libra 9'

Would this give off the same energy as a Mercury conjunct Venus synastry aspect?

While the effect of this conjunction may not be as potent as if it were closer together, I'd say the venus person would still find they admire the speech & communication of the mercury person. There'd still be a nice, harmonious, sweet flow between you with that aspect (unless of course there are other negative aspects overriding that one).

No, I would say not.

The orbs are likened to a fire or energy.

The closer, the more "felt"

In this case, it would not really be close, per se imo

Ami,

I like your fire analogy. Lets just say that attraction is like butter, and aspects are like fire. There won't be any melting unless these unless the aspect is up close.

However, having two planets in same sign in synastry does indicate that the two people will generally understand where the other is coming from. There might not be a strong energy exchange, but there would be understanding.

My thoughts exactly.

Though I do tend to look out for the melting-butter-scenario, cause nothing else would spark enough interest to even GET into a relationship with the other person.

However then of course the (in)compatibility as detailed through these signbackgrounds and natal aspects come into play very much.

A Venus-Mars-conjunction might bring two people together, but if their respective Venus and Mars positions are natally rather incompatible, things might turn sour in the long run, or stressful at least.
