How do you interpret composites with aspects that contradict each other? For example, let's say in a random composite, Uranus and Neptune TRINE Sun, Moon, and Mercury but SQUARES mars. or Pluto... or Saturn. How would you interpret these aspects? A relationship can't be isolated like individual aspects so what happens? IP: Logged |

That's where chart synthesis comes in with interpretation, just as with the natal chart. I don't look at my natal chart to decide if I'm a good or bad person, so the straining folks sometimes engage in over a composite chart to decide if it says the relationship is good or bad is often what is interfering with understanding what you're looking at.In your example, think of how you'd interpret this configuration of aspects by Uranus-Neptune if it were in someone's natal chart. If still stumped, stick with natal interpretation until its no longer a mystery. I'm speaking here with the assumption you are a serious student rather than just looking to interpret a hypothetical or real composite. Uranus-Neptune trine Sun, Moon, and Mercury indicates the potential for finely-tuned understanding, both intuitive and verbal communication that is insightful, playful and creative. Uranus-Neptune square Mars is not a contradiction in my view. It simply adds that these two transcendent energies may sometimes run a bit hot and press for a pressure relief that shows up in fuzzy motivations and impulsive action. The added tension in the square with Mars may be exactly what is needed to spur the easy-flowing energy of the trines, which need some push to be fully realized. Trines and squares are not contradictory except in theory. When in the same chart it is best to see the chart altogether as integrated energies -- or at least energies with the potential to be integrated.
