NOW that I've got your attention (including some warranted confusion, and hopefully a nice big laugh) ...

Listen up, my beloved IA'ers.

Here in the ol' You Ess of Ayyyyyyy! -- it's the hollydaze. In fact, it's 'the Yuletide season' everywhere that Christmas is celebrated.

There will be no harassment. No belittling. No insults, and no arguments that go beyond bickering about a point.

In short, NO AD HOMINEM ATTACKS.

Even if you 100% legit believe that the person with whom you're dealing is THE scum of the Earth, you say ...

'I think we should agree to disagree.'

AND YOU (kindly) LEAVE. Create a new thread, and request that one be closed, if you're the high-road-taker, and others are not following suit.

I our modern world, it's so bloody easy to get into a squibble-squabble everywhere we go.

'You split the vote!' 'I didn't even vote.' 'YOU MONSTER!'

Sometimes, we can't win for losing.

But I was here when IA was a bright, red, screaming infant, and with a handful of other fantastic midwives, gave it's bum a good slap, and said, 'welcome to the family, kid.'

I'm proud of it. It's got some great energy, and a wonderful following. But ... tensions run high. Tempers can flare. And, the next thing we know ... out come the names. Until we're all like, 'BE NICE!' and the response is basically:

... 'cause the 'damage' is already done, when voices are raised, and emotions are running high.

I've managed to see my Facebook friends list split off into two segregated groups as a result of the last election. I've NEVER seen that happen before. It's ludicrous. It's insane.

So, I've got VERY low tolerance for haterade these days, and I REALLY won't see it going down here. 'kay? Because there comes a time when ...

Now. Carry on. BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER. Because, I WILL be watching. Oh, yes. I will. Like Santa. Or that creepy-ass neighbour. Or the NSA. Or ALL of the above.
