I have never identified with my 7th house sign. never felt attracted to scorpio or the characteristics of this sign. I also noticed that i tend to attract sagitarians (with no planets in sagitarius) and libra (only the south node) and I do not find romantically atractive virgo.. actually all the opposite.. well, i noticed as well that my DC progressed very early in life as my AC is in early degrees of the sign..
when I compared the natal versus the progressed I was surprised with the findings

5HOUSE
natal 5 virgo (could not be less atracted to virgo), pluto uranus in the house with jupiter conjunct the cusp from 4th in 5th... pluto uranus square my moon. tend to attract very independent type and sagitarians..
progressed 5 Libra (so charming)

7 HOUSE
natal 7 Scorpio (same as virgo, to repellent to me). nenptune in the house... cannot resist neptunians. i dont know if the influence of the natal or the progressed neptune in 5.
progressed Sagittarius (very funny and just comfortable to be with complementary.. not sure if my gemini moon-mercury though or jupiter in 5). no planets in progressed house

8 HOUSE
natal 8th sagitarious (no planets on it)
progressed 8th capricorn (although not the sign, tend to attract saturnians a lot. people with strong saturn in their chart are very attractive to me in a misterious way. like hey i do not like your strict ways, but I am drawn to it. Does it make sense?). I dont have planet in this house in either progressed or natal

curiously, I do not have planets in progressed 7 or 8th. I do have neptune in progressed 5 and in natal 7th. and in natal 5 jupiter uranus pluto. and of course, cannot resist piscis moon, piscis venus, piscis AC, and strong neptunians in general.. it is just my romantic dream...

because neptune is in romantic houses in both natal (7) and 5 (progressed) I cannot tell which one drives the romantic dream. in any case, virgo (5 natal) and scorpio (7natal) have no appeal to me, while sagitarius (7 progressed) and libra (5 progressed) are very much attractive to me... it can be jupiter in 5th natal, but why I am not attracted to plutonians if i have pluto in 5th and scorpio is my 7th? why i feel more attacted to libra instead with not planets driving that or natal house explaining it? If i tried hard, I could find explanations (i.e I am very venusian with AC taurus, venus conjunct sun) but why taurus are not my type either?.. it is the libra venusian vibe that I like... I have no planets in libra.. same with sagitarius... which could be explained for the opposition to my gemini moon-mercury and the fact that mercury is my sole chart dispositor or the jupiter in 5h in natal.. but not sure if these are the explanations... i am starting thinking that more straighforward is to look at the progressed houses...

another explanation is that we attract the energies we do not own completely . I am very plutonian myself and have no need to bring an extra share of pluto to my life. that would explain the lack of attractiveness of pluto or scorpions. with virgo I am very picky and self-critical, maybe that is why I do not need virgo energy either?.. not sure I am very virgo though i have pluto-uranus-jupiter in virgo.

Virgo is on your 5th house cusp. Virgo rules the 6th house. So the 6th house gives extra details about romantic attractions for you. The 6th house is your secondary 5th house. Your 6th is Libra...

With Scorpio on the 7th house, the 8th house gives extra details your 7th house affections. The 8th house is your secondary 7th house. For you the 8th house is Sagittarius...

The reason I bring this up is because I'm much more attracted to my natal 5th/7th/8th then my progressed ones. Including my secondary versions of these houses in my natal chart. My natal chart says I like outgoing signs like Aries, Sag, Gemini, and Aqua, with a dash of water (Scorpio or Cancer) on the side. My progressed chart has Taurus on the 5th and Cancer on the 7th. Together they are too quiet for me (although I can like Moon in Cancer as long as the Sun is in a masculine sign). My natal chart shows how I like outgoing energy to balance my more introverted energy. The progressed chart doesn't show this very well for me.

Also, what sign is your Mars?

To be honest I thought into digging more into my chart to get to a deeper explanation. I see what you mean with secondary houses and it makes sense. I have followed your post about the topic, so I would dig into your theories to see if i find more explanations...what bug me is that why in earth should the secondary houses be more relevant that primary. i would expect them to complement instead...

My mars is in cancer (conjunct sun & venus). it is almost cusp of 3rd house and aries is in the cusp of my 12. it has a wide orb sextile with jupiter. so the jupiter theme, but the libra (other than the secondary 5th house) I have south node and vertex (both natal and progressed)
