On October 25, 2016, Dancing Maenad posted the following quotation in the Soul Unions Department under the topic 'Inspirational Love Quotations.' This is reportedly of Buddhist origin.

"When you meet your 'soul mate' you'll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation."

I had hoped to see discussion on that idea.

Anyone here have comments?

If the quotation reflects real-life experience, where in the native's chart does one look to discover this kind of calmness feeling, and what synastry or contacts from another nativity are likely to provide it?

I felt like that when I met my ex. Calm and happy and not thinking of romantic love at all. We spent several months talking all the time before he brought that up. And sometimes I wish that I had just said, "No, let's just leave it as it is."

Then he and I would still be friends.

Worst personal loss of my life, outside of death.

He was naturally calm with a Taurus moon. Ditto for me, a Pisces moon.

My condolences, Faith. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting that Taurus should be involved in your case. I was just thinking that the only "calming" influence in romantic relationships that I can recall was with a Taurus sun woman.

Wondering now if the calm feeling is necessarily reciprocal, or is the person responsible for the calming influence taking a hit for providing his or her therapy services?

Faith,

just wanted to say from personal experience - usually, after time had passed, the mind tends to romanticize and glamorously paint past experiences while obliterating the bad stuff. There are usualay a lot of what if's, should have's, could have's but keep in mind that is only your mind's tricks and in the reality - there was a solid reason or reasons for you to break up and move on with your lives at that time, something was missing/lacking/not right. We tend to forget that. This is the reason why many people get together again after a break up , I am only talking about a long break up, thinking only about what they missed but they forget the real reason the break up took place, and consequently - the get together after a (long) break is rarely successful, they break up again and this time for good.

But this was a terrible loss.

And because I was the one who caused the damage, of course, it's on me to have the regrets.

But anyway....

So much calmness and a feeling of fitting together like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that have been searching for one another for centuries. No need to be anyone other than yourself. Feeling like coming home and breathing out a sigh of relief.

He is also a Taurus ASC so that may contribute. I find them very calming.
