This is a topic I've seen before, but thought I'd add in a fresh insight/observation that occurred to me the other day.

I always assumed the node person would feel it more, but a few phrases the other day made me see it differently.

NN conj Moon (My NN, my close friend's moon): He said: "I feel like we have a real emotional connection" [this is a closed-down scorp so was quite easy to ID this!]

NN conj Venus (His (same guy) NN, my venus): I feel a very deep familial caring love for him.

SN conj Sun-Saturn-Mars (My SN, my uncle's stellium) he said the other day to me: "I've always felt that I had the most in common with you." [out of all his 15+ nieces and nephews - bearing in mind I don't see this uncle often, so I was quite surprised until I looked up his chart]

Do you think this is the case that the planet person feels the connection more than the node person? If so, can you fill in the blanks from your experiences?

Stellia this is very interesting, what is the conjunction orb in those cases?

Fairly tight across the board - apart from the moon conjunction, which is ironically one of the more distinct feelings.

It also depends on the type of node used - I used to use true node, but was reading Steven Forrest the other day and he recommends mean node, so I have just started looking at mean over true.

In the NN conj moon (2'51 mean, 3'53 true - applying).

In the SN conj Saturn (0'13 mean, 1'15 true - separating); SN conj sun (1'05 mean, 0'04 true - applying); SN conj Mars (1'11 mean, 0'09 true - applying).

In the NN conj Venus (1'06 mean, 0'04 true).

like you I too always thought it was the node person who feels things more intensely. but I am beginning to think that the planet person notices the sensation first, and it might take some time for the node person to get used to the sensation, specifically in the conjunction.

It makes sense that the planet person would feel those things associated with the activated planet: the moon the emotional connection, the venus the affection and caring. I think the NN person tends to feel more of a challenge or a sense of going somewhere they need to go.

I have some tight NN aspects with the person I'm currently seeing and that seems to be the case.

That's really interesting sashavittoria - care to elaborate on which planets are involved at the moment?

I've been thinking about your reply girlwiththerainy - I really think that's on the money.

Given that the planet person is there to show the NN person a different reality, it makes sense that they recognise the feelings first and eventually the other pulls round into the feeling.

stellia do you have your sun or mars in a particular aspect to your NN? because I notice all three have been male.

I think people with natal aspects between their nodes and sun have the biggest potential to meet people who constantly have things conjunct their NN.

That's absolutely right - I have Mars tightly conjunct my NN (0deg and jupiter 4deg, although out of quality)! Great observation.

It may also contribute that my NN is in the 7th house, too.

It's not the case that all my relationships have activated the nodal axis, but these ones certainly do.

I love that facet about who approached whom, as well. Will definitely be looking at this further - in the case with the NN-venus and moon-NN guy, I initially approached him and made conversation with him (his NN my venus in gemini haha), but it has been him who has taken the initiative in terms of emotional support and in a sense moved the relationship forward as a result.

Actually, have just discovered another. My dad has pluto conjunct my NN (2deg, separating) and a loose sun conjunction (5deg, separating). He has certainly had a formative and transformative impact on the relationships in my life - he was not kind to my mother, and without realising it, I was partnering with men who were repeating those behaviours. I now know these are not normal, hence my decision to leave my ex. So I have experienced a significant transformation - the next step of which will be to not repeat the pattern going forward.

I love that the nodes can tell such detailed stories...

I agree with you, the nodes definitely have to do with the repetitive patterns in our life.

its house, sign, and aspects to planets tell a lot about the theme

This is a great question. The NN is one of the things I love the most in charts, so will give my opinion.

The planet person brings a THEME to the NN person and a theme to the relationship.

They both feel the theme, such as when someone kisses you, you both feel warm and loved.

However, in this case, the kisser BROUGHT the kiss to the relationship( maybe a silly example)

However, both feel it, for sure.

If it is a lovely asteroid like Juno, both feel the love and devotion.

If it is something hard like Chiron, both feel the pain, but I think the Chiron person BRINGS the pain.

Hope that helped, my Friend

Sure. We have three tight NN aspects:

My NN trine his Saturn - I don't think we've been together long enough for this to show up yet but from the start he certainly saw me as someone who would be in his life long term, while I've been slower to acknowledge that. He very quickly asserted our relationship as something serious and permanent. As the NN person reacting to this, I felt very apprehensive about this behavior, viewing it as a kind of red flag because I wanted to proceed more slowly, being cautious (my Sun and Venus in Taurus!) and hesitant and a little afraid. I know the flowing aspects aren't supposed to cause trouble but I can also see (perhaps due to my deep distrust of Saturn!) the potential for him to try to restrict/discipline me, especially because he's twenty years older and we're both very stubborn and willful. He's also admitted to trying to control people in the past.

His NN conjunct my MC - Well, we met at work. I definitely feel that he can help me in my career, not in a nepotistic way, but in the sense of him encouraging me. We both do creative work and he encourages and motivates and inspires me a LOT, especially because he's so good at what he does. As the NN person, he has also said he wants to start a business with me. We do have potential to combine our skills and talents, if not in an official way, then in a less formalized way.

His NN sextile my Sun - I'm not sure what this aspect is "supposed" to signify beyond "instant attraction and familiarity" which is a resounding yes on both our parts. (Early on we agreed we must have met in a previous life.) My instinct is to say that as the Sun person here I feel he validates my ego, in a good way. Like I mentioned, he's very encouraging. I'm hesitant to speak too much for him but I do think he feels I can help him along his path in life, professionally and personally and spiritually.

Overall I think it's these NN aspects that make our relationship feel so powerfully karmic. Like I said, we acknowledged early on that this doesn't feel like our first lifetime together. I definitely feel like we're here to help one another along our paths in life.

There are some other noteworthy things about the signs and house placements of our NNs, but this post is already long so I'll save it for another time!

I agree with everything Ami Anne said, by the way. And I also definitely feel that with his Saturn aspecting my NN he makes me want to be more disciplined! The themes of Saturn, the MC, and the Sun definitely influence our relationship.

My moon conjuncts my fiance's north node 3° and we have a very strong emotional bond and had the feeling that this relationship was meant to be. We feel as though our bond is very strong and seems very unbreakable. He is a cancer and I am a Libra lol

Saturn can keep people together when there are misunderstandings. It acts like a glue!

I have NN connections with someone I spend a lot of time with from the get go but his Sun, Moon, and Venus are conj my Venus so it's really hard for me to know what is what...

The node connection we have that stands out b/c there is a theme...

my NN opp his Mars and ASC in Pisces
his NN conj my Mars and DSC in Sag.

I have been curious about this... I seem to relate to his Pisces energy (and it's been a struggle- his Mars conj my SN) but I seem to be pulling him out by inviting him to things and doing things with him he would never do on his on (which I think is my Mars conj his NN).

But, his Sun, Moon, and Venus conj my Moon is lovely.

You will shake up his world. We can't tell if this will be good or bad, JUST from the Uranus/NN, but we know that you will lol

That is true I actually did because he is not use to having a partner. Apparently I am his first girlfriend and that he was always putting himself first and he is learning not to lol.

Wow how funny to find this thread after so long... That guy and I ended up getting married, now divorced, but still friends. And I have to say all those things remained true. The crazy thing about our nodes is that my NN is in Cap in the 6th and his SN is in Virgo in the 10th. We were very much one another's teachers along our paths... just heading in opposite directions. Very literally.

Anyway I was wondering this again about a couple of people and I think it still stands...

I had this as the Node person, except it was his Venus conjunct my South Node. The great unrequited love of my life! But he really treated me like family, in an almost paternal way. When you write here of the deep familial caring love, it makes sense this is what he felt for me.

Completely true again, as the Node person in another connection. This guy has his Uranus exactly on my NN and did indeed act as a wake-up call to get back onto my dharmic path. Also my whole life fell apart after meeting him (including the divorce I mentioned above).

He also has his Kaali on my South Node, so I wonder if he thinks I'm sexy lol but seriously, what would Kaali on SN feel like to the Kaali person?
