This is of a friend of mine and his girlfriend, who have been in a relationship for about 6 months now. He wanted to get some thoughts here, but doesn't have an account, so I posting for him. What's some opinions on the sexual attraction? Emotional attraction? Overall long lasting potential? Thanks

Sun/Sun and Moon/Moon placements look very good! The cradling between the two fire signs and Libra, lovely. Leaves the door wide open for Sun/Moon midpoint contacts. I love that this is reinforced in the composite as well. I love that Moon/NN conjunction double whammy! Provided the birth times are accurate, the Ascendants are in aversion. So I look to the sign ruler of Red's Ascendant, Mercury, and find it on Blue's descendant...good! For the Blue Aqua Ascendant, I see both Aqua's traditional and contemporary ruer in harmonious aspect to Red's Mars. Very nice. Blue has all the cards set up for beautiful synastry here, especially more so if Blue is the male in the relationship. Saturn sextile Mars is great for the malefics in synastry. Venus conjunct Jupiter is one of the most fortunate aspects a couple can have as well. For Venus conjunct Mars, I'd like to know who is the man and who is the woman. This can create a highly sexual energy which can somewhat scorch Venus (just a little prick!) of its normally soft and fluffy side.

Now, in the composite we see Venus in opposition to Saturn. Composite Saturn lies at 8 degrees Pisces. When we look back to the synastry, we can see that this forms a very loose opposition to that Venus and Jupiter conjunction. Normally such an orb would not even be lined on a chart generator but since this is reinforced in composite, we should take care that the restrictions and obligations of the relationship do not distort the see-saw between good times and enjoying the finer things, and criticisms of one another's individual preferences in an attempt to merge lifestyles and create one shared common ground. It's ok to like different things. Saturn in opposition to Mercury in composite is echoed by Red's Saturn trine Blue's Mercury. Although trines are good aspects, we should note Saturn's retrograde status in natal. Red should take care to not be too policing of Blue's expression of their thoughts and beliefs. Red may be able to say some things better than Blue can at first and this could impress Blue initially, but Red can veer off in to the territory of putting words in Blue's mouth at times. Red's Sun is in Blue's 7th house, and while this indicates a great deal of attraction on Blue's part, the Sun can scorch the 7th house at times and it should be remembered that this house is both the house of opposition of self through partnership and opposition of self through enemy as well.

I'd also like to mention based on observation of the Pluto placements that the individuals are quite young enough that there are likely to be significant progressions in the future that could mold the story progression of their relationship. Saturn on the 1st and 7th in house overlays shows a certain seriousness in the perception of each other. Traditionally, the advice here would be that Red should not marry Blue unless they have are absolutely sure that Blue is who they want to marry, and usually this is triggered by Red's personal Saturn return.

If you have the information, I'd LOVE to see first meeting transits in order to estimate the well-being of this relationship. I would check progressions for as long as the couple would ideally like to remain together to make sure of areas where both could be experiencing unfavorable transits to progressed planets at the same time. That creates a sore spot for termination of relationships. But yes. Everything in the synastry and composite for me is saying compatibility.

Thanks so much!

In synastry, the inner circle (blue) is the woman.

If Blue is the woman, I would simply make tiny adjustments in delineation.

The Libra Sun and Moon in sign with one another is the centralization of luminary power in the chart. The Sun person, her in this case, makes her the dominant one of the two when it comes to expression of this force. She is likely to project Sun qualities on her partner with reception of the moon. Since Men are usually in "Sun" space while women are in "Moon" space according to traditional ideas about gender psychology, this reverses that script a little bit so that she is the ultimate hand from which support throughout the synastry is extended.

In the case of Mars conjunct Venus where the woman is the Mars, we again see a reversal of traditional roles where the woman's more dominant energy is being in contact of a man's lesser dominant energy. Now, this does not mean that the woman comes across as wearing the pants necessarily, and in fact it can be quite the opposite. Because women express their masculine-aligned planets as projection more often than not. This is where we get the pop astrology notion that a woman's Mars is what they want in a man, a Man's Venus is what they want in a woman, etc. This is a gross oversimplification of the projection at work here but we can trace that ideology back to the same concept. When planets that we project onto another are contacted by another's planets that they ALSO tend to project, this can manifest like a bouncy ball between two mirrors where we see some of that previously projected power returned to ourselves.

In the case of her Saturn in his 7th house, we can see that in traditional gender psychology the men generally do the proposing and the asking out and make all of the "first" moves. We can see in the synastry that his Saturn is in her first house, and her Saturn is in his 7th house. I see that he could potentially be the slow treader in this relationship, and since he quite literally lights up her 7th house she may feel like the pace he's set is somehow mismatched with the way she feels the relationship to be going internally. If marriage or even moving in together and getting committed is even possibly on the table at this point, it would be well advised for them to wait. Waiting will be harder for her than for him. If he makes rash decisions it is likely to not end well, so patience is the key here.

Thank you, very informative.

In fact, they are a naturally patient couple. They were friends first, and knew each other for like a year before actually dating. They took (and still take) things rather slow.

But them taking it slow has no bearing on their feelings, because they SEEM to be deeply attached. Both of them have expressed they felt like they were meant to find/be with each other. I guess this is the Moon/NN conjunction at work here, and that aspect tends to suggest an extremely powerful emotional bond, doubly so since it's a double whammy.

Can you elaborate on this particular statement on the reversed roles of Venus conjunct Mars:
"When planets that we project onto another are contacted by another's planets that they ALSO tend to project, this can manifest like a bouncy ball between two mirrors where we see some of that previously projected power returned to ourselves."

What does that mean exactly, the energy or power we project being returned to us? Does that contribute to the sexual attraction here? Does it lessen or heighten it?

And my friend says thanks for the analysis

Isn't this your synastry with your girlfriend?
