Hi guys, me and my boyfriend have been together for some time now. He's an awesome guy and I have never, ever, been attracted to a guy this much before. He's also pretty romantic with me and makes me feel special and I also do the same. Yes, we did encounter problems inside the bedroom but we both noticed that we're improving as time goes by. We got off to a rough start but now everything's fine, we're still adjusting but not as messy as before.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Glad you presented this synastry with your comments, because it serves as an excellent example of harmonious synastry entirely misconceived as 'difficult'. It shows the aspects that every good relational astrologer likes to see involving Mercury for communication and mutual understanding, Venus for affection, Moon for domestic compatibility, and Jupiter for growth and good humor.

Just counting the inter-aspects of synastry there are 24 positive/supportive aspects to only 8 negative/challenging ones. I did not count anything but planets, leaving out Asc, MC, etc, since I have not verified the accuracy of those points in both charts. Regardless of whatever aspects there may be to those other points, the totals are still overwhelmingly positive.

The most likely supportive aspects considered challenging or 'hard' are:

Your Jupiter opposite his Moon. This is not a hard or difficult aspect in synastry, but an excellent one supportive of good humor and honest exchange. My wife and I have this and it considerably relieves other challenging aspect dynamics far more challenging than anything your synastry presents.

Your Jupiter square his Venus. Again, this is a good aspect for synastry. Some indulgences are indicated, but these are the two benefics getting together between two people's charts in strong aspect.

ALL benefics - Sun to Venus or Jupiter in synastry aspects, including hard ones, should be counted as positive/supportive of relationship. That also means any person's Venus to other's Sun or Jupiter; any Sun-Jupiter. The only exception is Sun to Sun hard aspects. I count them as negative/challenging, but even those can be altered depending on their relationship in declination (Suns in fixed signs can be parallel: Taurus-Leo, Scorpio-Aqua).

I also count all aspects of Moon to Venus/Jupiter as positive and supportive of relationship, as well as all aspects of Moon to Asc.

Some aspects you probably have not considered:

- Your Moon is parallel his [18 north declination]. This is not just both being in the same sign of Cancer. When these two are conjunct it is well known to provide a great emotional platform of compatibility, especially between two people who want to be intimate and live together. This is domestic compatibility at its most basic. The parallel is just as strong and supportive as the conjunction.

- Your Jupiter is parallel his Uranus. This is an excellent aspect for a sense of adventure and luck. Both will be there given even a modest amount of patience.

Wow, thank you Kannon for that wholesome response! I guess not all hard aspects have to be negative, and I thought those parallel moons didn't count. Thank you for the advice as well as sharing your experience.

Sure thing. It also reminds me that I want to eventually come up with a rating system that will allow for flexible evaluation of synastry for overall compatibility. It will probably be rated on a scale of 100 or so to give plenty of numeric leeway for inclusion of many factors. Hopefully I'll have time to develop that in the next month or so once I get this big blog series (part 3 financial warning) out of the way. I've got the most basic ideas down after nearly two decades of synastry work.

A rule of thumb: the asteroid picture might look bad, but if the synastry between planets is good you can just ignore the asteroid part as to overall compatibility. I don't even bother with asteroids anymore. I used to include Chiron, but it really is not necessary. Asteroids give slight coloration or added shading, but do not determine basic attraction or compatibility.

I counted only aspects between your planets and planets/Nodes.

the composite has one of the most attractive aspect possible. venus conjunct the south node. this gives a strong emotional and physical attraction. then the mars/Venus midpoint is conjunct to the nadir showing a spontaneous attraction between you that is at the base of the relationship.

the there is also the amore/cupid and amore/Uranus midpoints square the node which bring a intense enchantment and attraction for each other.

then there is the moon on the descendant square to psyche which bring a almost spiritual, childlike infatuation, often a feeling like a first love.

one aspect that may pop the bubble is the Jupiter square to Saturn and mercury with these midpoints conjunct Uranus.
this bodes that once the thrill is gone practical matters my bring problems.
