Topic: House and planetary energy in synastry

I was wondering if both energies work together in synastry and can be compared to planetary aspects. Let me better explain what I mean.
I'm currently dating somebody with whom I do not have a Sun-Venus conjunction. We have other nice things going on, such as sun-moon opposition, venus-mars opposition, ascendant ascendant opposition etc. but what really gets my attention is this: My venus is in Capricorn in the 7th house. His Libra sun is in his 10th house.
His venus is in Virgo in the 9th house. My sun is in Sag in the 6th house.
Our sun and venus are square - double whammy - but the houses that both sun and venus planets are in, represent the sign's qualities. Also, my leo moon is my 3rd house, so is his Gemini moon located in his 5th house. I never thouhgt of this before, but since it's so present in our synastry, I now wonder and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Hi Stella, what you are referring to is "affinity" and it does represent not only compatibility but longevity in relationships.This has been linked to longevity in relationships involving mainly the sun, moon and ascendant, however I am sure our personal planets would be involved as well to a certain extent. An example would be one person having Scorpio rising and their partner with their moon or sun in the 8th house. Another would be if someone has a Sagittarius moon and the partner with their moon or sun in the 9th, or with Sagittarius rising. Imo affinity between charts is overlooked far too often. IP: Logged |

Yes I have. My first love had cancer sun and I cancer rising. We were competitive when together, but not in a good way. Lasted longer than it should have. My ex husband, together 18 yrs...had Capricorn rising. My natal sun is in the 10th. My current SO has sun in the 4th to complement my cancer ASC. IP: Logged |
