I have an exact conjunction with an almost friend lol Sometimes he is VERY NICE to me,sometimes he's cold.

He is a taurus sun
Pisces moon
Venus in gemini
Mars in capricorn

I'm a capricorn sun
Gemini moon
Venus in pisces
Mars in cancer

The first is an ex boyfriend, the sweetest, loveliest guy you could meet. Much too easy going for me really but I think his Mars on my Sun allowed him to express a more masculine and strong side that wasn't usually in his nature. Hence us having a relationship, we're still good friends too.

Other two are male friends, I feel they both make me very sparky, fiery, they both uplift me and energise me and seem to understand how to. Weirdly though they both have other Aquarius planets conjunct my Jupiter and Sun and they're both Aries Sun.

So my personal experience is that it's a wonderful conjunction. I have Mars square Sun, with Mars in the 7th ruling the DSC, so for me Mars is a very welcome, bonding energy. :-)

It depends on how the persons choose to respond, and to those particular energies. You never know what (subconscious) issues a person may be carrying that cause them to not respond with expected warmth or energy in relation to someone where this aspect exists in their synastry. Don't expect such a person to go outside their own natural tendencies or to meet your expectations for what Sun-Mars 'should' be.

I look at such synastry aspects as just one in may of an overall synastry dynamic, some of which may never seem to show until deep in a very personal relationship. There is no way to take one such synastry aspect and predict every time how each person will behave.

It could be seen as a positive synastry factor 'unity of action and purpose', but only if there is no square to Sun-Mars from one person's Saturn, Uranus, or Pluto. Then the dynamic is more likely to be tense, even drive one or both into control issues. Again, as always, the entire chart must be taken into account. Isolated snippets don't make for much astrological understanding.
