Topic: No mercury = No communication?

If person A's mercury is trined and sextiled by several of person B's planets... But person B's mercury has no aspects except for a square to A's Sun... Does this mean that only person A communicates freely in the relationship?IP: Logged |

Mmmm yes and no. There are a few ways to get around a lack of Mercury Mercury synastry. For instance let's say they have their DSC in Virgo or Gemini and you touch that in some capacity, or lets say that you touch planets of theirs that are aspected to their own natal Mercury that could work. An example of that would be I have natal Mercury Square Pluto, if you touch my Pluto you are also touching the other planets that are aspected to my Pluto (or Mercury). You could also look to see if you or he have any 3rd or 6th house overlay placements. For instance I don't have very good Mercury synastry with someone I know (Mercury Square Mercury) and we can click and clash sometimes, but their Mercury is loosely Trine my Sun/Asc and my Mercury is loosely Sextile his Sun/Sat. Plus his Venus is my Mercury placement and his Venus falls in my 3rd. So I like talking to him about everything. We also have a Pluto Conjunct Mercury aspect, in which I'm Pluto. My own Pluto is Square my Mercury so that adds a dimension to things. This is all to say that there are ways of getting around things. I would say the most invaluable thing to have is just contact between planets or positions. After that everything else will fall into place as it's supposed to. IP: Logged |

Being that communication is a key component of any relationship, it is unlikely a union will get that far if communication was lacking at the beginning.That said, Mercury rules logical, dispassionate communication. The Moon rules emotional communication; I love you, you make me feel, etc... IP: Logged |

I believe a close conjunction between the Sun and Mercury in the Composite can make up for missing Mercury contacts in Synastry. IP: Logged |
