I've heard this aspect is among the worst in synastry if in tight aspect. That the pluto person enjoys emotionally hurting the moon person the way a sociopath enjoys hurting living creatures. Is this true?

I had this with a roommate once where I was the moon. I turned down his advances and he instigated his revenge by stealing money from me and going behind my back and saying awful things about me. This did hurt me because I thought we were friends. But I'm not sure if this aspect was behind it.

I have Pluto semisquare Moon in my natal chart, and I don't remember having any relationship where my Pluto didn't square the partner's Moon. The last relationship lasted 8 years. Now, I'm not saying that there isn't any trouble (emotionally) with this aspect... but I didn't behave so badly with my partner and I don't think I've been abusive towards him, since we are ending it and we are still kind of friends... and I never stole things from others... but I've been on the other receiving end. Once a best friend of mine (in our teens) took things in my house; some were mine, and some of my mother... sometimes in the past I could attract "friendships" like this, where the other girl was seriously disturbed or was manipulative... And with that friend I had Pluto contacts and she was quite plutonic too.

So yes, this type of contact can result negative in synastry, I mean with Pluto one should always be careful... but... have you checked Neptune for what happened to you? Someone who turns out to be a person you don't recognize... delusion... sounds neptunian to me...

In any case, I would like to stress the importance of the maturity and awareness of people handling the contacts... even if your friend, or a person in general is plutonic, it doesn't imply he/she has to steal or manipulate or seek some kind or revenge all the time. It's a very "low" way of manifesting Pluto (and as I said, I'm very plutonic...).
Today I would be able to detect an energy like the one of my old "friend" from a distance. From now you too should try to learn to pick up the energy of people and protect yourself.
