the NN is a very subjective point,

i think for the NN person, they behave like the Moon toward the planet person contacting the NN.

but the NN individual probably see's the NN person a bit like the SN is that persons Sun sign.

because the SN represents who we are alot.

For me it's enough to feel comfortable with someone. I'm not really thinking in terms of *learning from..*

We are still friends to this day (20 years).. I am very close to his family.. I go to his family parties, and also me and his wife (a leo) get along great.. She actually is the one who invites me to parties... I love his family more than him... lol

So I cant remember if I "felt" it or not.

The NN can be a *difficult* point.
Many of us have a love-hate relationship with our NN (for some time) due to the opposition to our SN (which generally feels more comfortable). So if the NN person is not open to the "lessons" imparted by the planet person - they could easily have a schizophrenic reaction: "I need you in my life - but pleaseeee get away from me!" - It is a reaction of simultaneous attraction & repulsion, that is very common with the opposition aspect in natal/synastry. It could leave the planet person confused and feeling either rejected or outraged (with planets such as the Sun/Mars - the reaction could be more so aggressive... such as "who does X think he/she IS to treat me this way?" - whereas with the Moon/Venus the more likely reaction is sadness/depression. If the NN-SN individual begins to play out this opposition with the planet person - that is the point when the planet person usually has enough and leaves.

Personally - I prefer relationships with those who have something on *both* my NN and SN, so they can understand both sides.. But maybe that doesn't apply to everyone. I already have conjunctions in natal as well - My Venus is conj my NN in Taurus and my Pluto is on my SN in Scorp.

But here's the difference..

When it's the SN, so familiar territory, the SN person recognizes the planet person as someone who will readily provide to them.. whatever it is.. Usually it's love,, sex, friendship, energy, compliments, attention.. The SN person feels supported and very good around the planet person!! The planet person feels the attachment and also enjoys the position it gets in the SN person's life. They become part of the SN person's life journey! But after some time the planet person feels drained, if there is no contact to their own nodes!! When the karma is cleared, these people usually part ways.

In case of the NN ... Both people feel the attachment as well, but since the NN is rather unfamiliar territory for the NN person, there is some reluctance on their part! So they do feel attracted to the planet person, but also repulsed and uneasy. The familiarity is not there yet!! So in this case the planet person becomes the pursuer! They sense their potential meaning in the NN parson's life. They want to give!! But it's up to the NN person, whether something happens or not!

In case of angles to nodes..

This is something different!! Because they always work both ways! And the angles don't give of energy like planets do!! The angles are also developmental points. So when these points touch the nodes, it's pure chemistry! These two people get locked together. This of course does not mean that their meant to be forever! There is not one single aspect that could predict that! But an angle/node connection can be very powerful!!

The best connection would be, if both people's nodal axis gets activated! Then the relationship becomes more balanced. Both people become very significant in each other's journey.

my Mars and DSC conj his NN (in Cap)

(we have a lot of other stuff, but there is a huge Saturn/Pluto/NN/Mars theme going both ways... and he is 13 years younger than me).

We became fast friends within mins of meeting... we were both extremely comfortable with each other at the get go and it seemed like he wanted to always take care of me or help me (he said he doesn't know why he feel like this but he has this need to do it).
