Thanks for your input there is definitely sexual attraction between us. Hence the Mars trine Mars aspect. We aren't in a romantic relationship. But we have been involved with each other for a couple of years now. I guess you could say we have a sexual relationship. I'm guessing it's the Moon/Saturn aspect that's been keeping us
In contact for so long. I'm not sure about moon placements because I don't have his birth time. I really would like for us to always remain friends.

No dont give up! Dont let astrology hold sway on your decisions completely. At the end of the day, hkw do you feel about him? Do you want something more with him? If you do just try it out. It doesnt hurt to. You will see for yourself how the relationship will work out. Remember it could still work out if you both are willing to work things out and if you guys feel a connection. Astrology is supposed help guide you and help you come to realize the flaws and strengths and help overcome bad traits. Also, you shouldnt take the synastry too seriously since you dont know his time of birth. For it to be accurate you should have both of your birth times correct.
