I know an elderly couple who do this and slept apart after they had a desired son. I don’t know their birthdates. I’ve always had this feeling of wanting my own sleeping space and wondering if it is related to a strong Uranus. Does anyone who actually sleeps apart from their SO have aspects they think supports this in their chart either natally, synastry or composite? I’m curious as to whether this is a good thing that works for them too

This is me , I do that. I cannot sleep with another being in my bed, human or a pet. My bed is my sanctuary and I cannot share it with anyone, I can sacrifice maybe a few nights but not for long. I have to be alone in bed even alone in the room, under a cozy cover with crispy sheets, dark room with no lights not even lights from equipment, and absolutely no sound. No sounds in my room or near my room. I have a strong Neptune in my chart (sleep is a Neptune thing ) , and I also have Uranus in my 7th. IP: Logged |

Orange thank you. I love having questions answered. That is interesting! It reminds me of the fairytale “The Princess and the Pea” 😀 I can relate about it being a sanctuary and not wanting pets around. My cat 🐈 is a little pest and I prefer she sleeps on my partners side rather than mine (even though she is my cat). I didn’t think of Neptune. I wonder if Moon opposite Neptune, with Neptune falling in the relationship houses of the natal is an aspect? My sister and I both have this although in her relationship the separation is due to her partner working in another city and he only comes home for the weekends. If so, then that aspect would also appear in Synastry as our partners are not so far apart in age (we are both the Moon in synastry). IP: Logged |

An Aquarius and Cancer couple I know. I don't think they have any Venus/Mars connections. There just together for convenience plus both of them have had there share of failed marriages/relationships. My Planets ========================================= ☉‘ ♊, ☽ ♈, ASC ♑, ☿ ♊, ¡÷ ♉, ¡ö ♋ , ♃ ♒, ♄ ♏, ♅ ♐, ♆ ♑ IP: Logged |

The princess and the pea...yeah And cant sleep if someone is snoring, snoring is troublesome to me, i listen to the heavy breathing and it pains me, cant sleep listening to someone struggling to catch a breath in their sleep. heck, just listening to any sound of breathing no matter snoring or not, just any breathing - it keeps me awake. I think it is their energy that I sense, I am an empath and I cant relax with another's energy emitted near me, it interferes with mine. IP: Logged |

I've known couples on the autism spectrum who do this. They generally need more personal space than average people.I know a very high functioning autistic person. He has a stellium of planets in Virgo (need for order and routines are a symptom of autism) Along with the south node there which emphasizes these traits. He also has mars square venus which is often said to cause the native to have problems with empathy and social situations. Ie: Coming on too strong when more ease is warranted, or coming on too soft when more action is warranted- Also coincidentally traits of autism. South Node conjunct Mars (vedic astrologers say that a person with this conjunction will often have some trouble with motor skills and movement.)-But this is also an autistic trait. Stellium in Virgo in the 3rd plus his moon is in the same placement as Einstein had... -Native like this is likely to have very high IQ and a very analytical mind.... People with high functioning autism (Ie auspergers) can often have higher than average IQ's also) He also has separate bedrooms with his wife who is also high functioning on the autism spectrum. They like the arrangement a great deal. IP: Logged |

Mandarin, that is a good point thank you. There are many different reasons to want space in a relationship and some actually need it to function. Interesting!IP: Logged |

^^^ Omg, I can relate! All of it!I just have an 'awake-awareness' of the other body in the bed. Unless I'm passed-out, I don't get good sleep with another person there. Lights are important, sounds are important, temperature is important. Also... I can be quite Creative during the night and early-morning hours. I can have sudden 'downloads' and if I'm working on a project, it's Better that I get up and respond to and with that 'download' for Creativity, than ignore it. Ignoring it can even mean that the Quality of the work and flow is affected. There is more Joy in the ease and flow that just pours-out, than the awful struggling of 'trying' to "find" that downloading stream again. In my last marriage, my spouse had been SOOOO sensitive to 'even my breathing'... He would nudge me, wake me up, and say my 'breathing' bothered him. The fan in the room had bothered him so much that he was up stuffing socks into and around it. With me too, my feet turn ice-cold. haha. Nothing like 'shocking' your partner with cold feet. He used to say he could even feel 'cold' radiating from me. (When I get 'cold' I go hypothermic... I need to make sure I'm adequately warm.. OR, I CANNOT sleep at all. I'm 'awake' all night, and suffering!! Without judgment... Sometimes it's just GOOD to have 'separateness' -- to function. Doesn't mean the couple doesn't love each other. You NEED your Rest!!!, or you can get sick! That spouse used to complain that I didn't come to bed? I 'learned' how to sleep comfortably on a sofa for four years? Yes, I have a configuration even WITH the Neptune and Uranus (those are square). And my Moon is in-between them BOTH! Moon H(9)leo sextiles Uranus and Jupiter H8cancer. Moon 30-degrees from Neptune Libra H10.
Mercury Gem H7 trines Neptune H10, trines 3rd House Cusp! (extremely tight) MARS Cancer H7 cj Mercury Gem.. and trines the Neptune out-of-sign. Mercury and Mars square the Moon MARS in an exact T-square to IC and MC. To be Productive (Mars) Can't be too-cold, too-warm... too-anything? But Just Right. So... Those are my "guesses." Sun Gem in the H6taurus.. another 'environment' house? Along with IC, and the H3? awwww-- JUST All of it!!!! LMAO It's my Birthday-Suit!!!!!! Princess and the Pea? or is it Goldilocks? IP: Logged |

Lol is Neptune also associated with fairytales? If so, then I want to be Sleeping Beauty who goes into a peaceful hundred year sleep to wake up to a Prince who doesn’t snore and has a luxurious palace with plenty of personal space 😊 - I think that’s how Moon opposite Neptune feelsIP: Logged |

You've got me laughing, WhiteMoon! I'm more of the outwardly seeming brave sure and certain (with a kind of leadership flair), yet sooo bitingly~hiding'shy when it comes to me, my personness. (Believe it or not)? I lean more towards the Cinderella story... Glass slippers? ... haha, maybe my intercepted-Pisces H3aqua, with Moon Virgo {working-away in the ashes? and being very helpful} in H(9)Leo? with aspects to stellium in the H8cancer. Vesta Cancer.. {hearth-mistress} in H8 trines asteroid Ashes in H12 Scorpio.

I think I need to change this thread to “what part of your life could be a fairytale according to your astrological aspects?”IP: Logged |
