If one or both of you were off a little on birth time and both of your Vertex locations were the same, I would say yes.

My birth time is accurate. My Vertex is 15Cap52 and hers is 4Cap02. Her birth time could be a little off. Thanks for your response.

I would see what time her birth would be for her Vertex to be located at 15Cap52 and then see if you could rectify her natal to justify the change. Another possibility would be the average of your two Vertex locations being the location of an apex of your kite on the Composite.

If birthtime was 4AM(36 min later)
Vertexes would be within 2 degree orb. Comp Vertex about 3 degree orb of 5H Mercury. Her ASC would be Leo 29. But overall scalar synastry drops: not a good tradeoff.

Asc would be close to Regulus.

I note that there is also a strong resonance with my mother. Here is their synastry overlay (mate inside). Their Kite formation head points at my natal 3H Part of Fortune. Comments?

What do you look for to determine this otherwise?

A pattern of resonance. For example, a simple asteroid like Valentine on the NN would get me excited.
