He tried online dating but it didn't turn out well so he stopped -- He gets discourage quickly. Can Moon opposite Saturn both square Neptune hold him back by this far?

I can post his natal chart if anyone can help me see what's holding him back. I'm hoping he can find love soon.

Yeah he does fear rejection and he's soft spoken too - It doesn't help with how dating works (men = initiator > risk at rejections).
It's bad, he's considering therapy because he feels his mood goes up and down for the past couple years.

It was a serious question. It could be something simple like being bald. The guy can be the nicest guy in the world but when it comes to online pic time, it might increase success probabilities if the basics are in place. Like having a job, etc.

Make sure the presentation is in place before contact. If anything is lacking, address it in the profile, possibly with humor.

Make contact to about 25-50 ladies that fit the scenario or until he can't handle all the replies efficiently.

There is someone for everyone.

Alternatively, and if you want to get more precise than what I offered to increase probabilities, you could figure out the opposite scenario and have him land one of his planets on their north node. For example, figure out the north node placement for his Venus so they are on top of each other. Asteroid Valentine would prolly work good too.

That is a completely rude thing to say, especially since the OP is genuinely concerned about her friend. If it were a woman having such things being said to them, all hell would break loose. But just because it’s the other way around doesn’t mean it’s right to say.

What I first noticed is that his Asc and Dsc ruler are in hard aspect. I think it's never easy to find the ideal partner but it gets especially tricky with such an aspect because the ideal partner has to be able to balance and express both ends of this important axis.

In your friend's case the Asc ruler is Saturn and it's located in Virgo. Saturn is opposite Moon and square Neptune. He has Capricorn, Virgo, Cancer and Pisces energy. His partner has to bring those qualities as well (except Virgo), since the Dsc ruler Moon is part of the same t-square.
The Dsc ruler Moon is in Pisces in H3.
Ideally the woman would have her Moon in early Gemini to mirror his third house Moon but more importantly, to close his t-square into a Grand Cross. I believe in pattern completion and that it brings stability in a relationship.

I played with some planetary constellations on Astrotheme to come up with a possible birthday for his partner. I think the best fit would be the chart of Roma Syria.

Venus in Aries opposite Pluto (mirroring his Scorpio Venus conjunct Mars), it is opposite his Sun and this is a beautiful interaspect
Mars in Aquarius (squaring his Scorpio stellium and mirroring his Mars/Uranus conjunction)

The chart would be great with a Leo or Taurus Ascendant.

What I can tell regarding his progressions is that his Sun progressed to his natal Venus 6-7 years ago and he had probably met someone very special at that time. You mentioned he had his last relationship five years ago. Did he get over this person?

Right now a lot of things in the progressed chart point to moving abroad or meeting someone from another country.
His progressed Venus (love)is retrograding to an applying square to his natal Jupiter (long journeys, foreigners, foreign countries). Venus is his MC ruler, is he also maybe thinking about going back to school or something like that (Jupiter = college, higher learning)?

His Sun will have progressed into Sagittarius by next year (again Jupiter ruled themes). He will probably be more cheerful when that happens. His progressed Sun in Scorpio makes him a little bit sad and moody.

The more immediate progressions will manifest in about two months when his progressed Moon starts squaring his natal Scorpio stellium. It will start with Mars (IC ruler) and Uranus (H2 ruler). The fourth house is among other things the end of matters. In about two months something will end. He might move, sell his property etc. because his IC ruler Mars is involved. With Uranus as H2 ruler he could also expect sudden financial changes.
Then about 7-8 months after that his progressed Moon will square his natal Venus and this could be the beginning of something romantic.
Try to make him socialize as much as possible in the next 9-10 months, it could definitely pay off.

Asc in Cap with Mo/Sat square,Plu/Sun conjunct, Venus/Mars conjunct with erratic Uranus conjunct square Jupiter.

5th house Taurus ruler Venus. Venus/Mars conjunct Sco is both craving intense connection as they are terrified of being abandoned.

That painful Uranus can interrupt the giving and receiving process(Venus/Mars) and make his worst fears vibrant and visceral.

The added square to Jupiter in Leo exaggerates the heartache when things fall apart and can cause him to shutdown and become fearful in heart matters. It can literally cause heartache.

The added Moon ruler of 7th (Cancer) square Saturn internalizes the worst of their flaws. The worst.

There could be an inherent belief that one is not "enough" or that one has to be something other than what they are to be received well.

Confidence is long and coming. But it is slow in coming. And with Pluto/Sun conjunct, he will always play on the defensive. Not really let his guard down or feel comfortable being exposed as being sensitive.

Its tough being in his position. He needs to treat himself better. The Uranus aspect to Venus/Mars in Sco suggests that he should learn to detach a little.

If he does not do this,he will continually beat himself up if things don't work out as he wants them to. Uranus there will pull a surprise each and every single time he tries to retain the reins of control.

Aries23Degrees, yeah he is. Even as a friend, my radar can feel it and sometimes it feels heavy, esp on his bad days.

Thank you everyone for trying to help my friend and help me understand where he is coming from. I will update here if he ever does find love.
