I have Sun trine Moon, Moon square Venus and Mars square Venus with someone in synastry. But the orb for the Sun trine Moon aspect is 9°36a' degrees. The orb for Moon square Venus is 7°24a and for Mars square Venus is 6°51s. Are the degrees for these aspects to wide to count in our synastry? IP: Logged |

Of course they apply, unless out of sign. 9 deg might be a bit wide but there's the same element, which is always nice. IP: Logged |

So if they are out of sign and a little over 9 degrees the aspect wouldn't count? IP: Logged |

it depends. Typically I would only use such a large orb, even if it's out of sign, if it involved one of the luminaries. If it involves just two regular planets then NO definitely not. That being said, I typically only do that for natal charts. It is common knowledge that the orbs used in synastry are a bit smaller for ALL aspects than in the natal chart. You would typically not dare use such a large orb for a conjunction in synastry. At the most it would be 7 or 8 degrees for a synastry conjunction, it is nonsensical to go past that. For natal, it can go all the way up to 11-13 depending on the planets involved. For squares in synastry it is best to not go past 4-6 degrees. In natal, a square can be at most 8 or 9 degrees.
