So I'm new to learning about progressed synastry but I noticed that my progressed venus square his progressed pluto from 2016 when we first met in 2016 until 2028. Is that a good or bad thing?

Will add a Pluto flavor to your relationship. Bad if you're not a fan of Pluto.

Pluto is trans-Saturn, so he is anti-establishment.

Venus wants a relationship, but within the bounds of Saturn. Pluto will rebel against Venus's attempt to establish a committed relationship.

Venus idea is to give something, to get something. Pluto will signal to Venus that her offer is somehow not enough. Or, he may take and not give back...yet expect Venus to keep giving without hope of receiving.

Oh boy that doesn't sound good when ut comes to long term matters. I am very plutonic so all my relationships are pluto themed but I don't know if I can handle going thru that aspect for years to come especially if I'm the only giving and not receiving

Wow, this is a great description. Reminda me of something I read somewhere else today that Moon is the mother, and Lilith is the anti-mother.
