I, of course, have compared so many synastry charts.... For me and my family and every guy I've ever thought I'd be with.. to friends.

One thing I have noticed in ALL of my experiences is that it seems that conjunctions are the single greatest symbol in my findings that there will be a solid, important, sustainable relationship.

This has been true 100% of the time for me. I know there are so many other aspects to be checking out, but it seems to me that if there aren't conjunctions, the other things matter less.

Energetically, the conjunction feels like a meeting place of the soul. More than a sextile or trine, which gets along harmoniously, but more like being literally one in the same.

With my daughter, I have SO many conjunctions that are very close. Her mars is on my ascendant. My Jupiter on her ascendant. Her moon on my venus. Her sun on my moon.

Same with my husband, we have SO many conjunctions. (Not to mention his venus is on my moon AND my daughter's sun).

Same with my son. And this goes for my daughter and husband too (her venus/nn/saturn is right on his sun and her sun is on his venus).

This is why they are important to kick start things - the people have to notice each other for starters. But then, too, depending on the planets, they also have to negotiate the space. This can bring problems. But yes, as you say, this can take years to do! So long term relationship is possible
