Quick question: Would you interpret Venus and Mercury as being in the 12th house here, or the 1st? Why? What factors in your interpretations on house overlays on cusps? All answers, insights and reasoning on house overlays and cusps welcome!! IP: Logged |

whole sign works better imo so anything in scorpio would be first therethat being said with placidus when a planet is right on the cusp of the next or previous house reading for both works well enough,as long as there's close orbs IP: Logged |

Thank you for your input Dumuzi! What do you mean by 'whole sign'?

I believe even though it is on the cusp, it is still in 12th house. I have natal Venus conjunct ASC by 1 degree but in 12th house. Some say this would be a first house Venus but from personal expierence I very much relate to what I’ve read about 12 house Venus. IP: Logged |

i mean each sign encompasses an entire house, so scorpio ascendant is scorpio 1st house and so on @MMarie i have venus conjunct my ascendant from the 12th house too, by 2 degrees, and i cant relate to 12th house venus but i can relate to 1st house venus which is why i suggest reading for both because youre more likely to be accurate if you consider both i'm curious though, what sign is your venus in? i ask because i wonder if planet strength would have an effect on whether or not it was 1st or 12th house when conjunct the ascendant from 12th in a placidus chart mine is libra IP: Logged |

That is true, I probably can relate to Venus both 1st house and 12th. My Venus is in Leo. I also have Jupiter and Chiron in 12th and Moon/Sun in 1st house. IP: Logged |

100 percent agreed. Doesn’t matter how close to the cusp, you still count it in the house it’s in. But if it’s close to an ANGULAR house, it’s infulence is still felt to that angle. So if you have mercury in the 12th, but conjunct the ASC, you would have the influence of mercury in the 12th but also relate to mercury conjunct ASC. It’s just going to be a bit different than if that mercury was in the first and conjunct the ASC. IP: Logged |

LunaIscariot, so you say interpretations of Venus in 1st will not apply at all period? My experience has been like this: I am the Venus person. There is mutual appreciation of how we appear to the world, and unconditional acceptance of it. It was more or less a love at first sight situation. Very physical and 'superficial' appreciation as well. (This is the conj ASC bit I suppose) But it's not dependent on their looks changing, it goes deeper. My behaviour in this relationship has been much more selfless than in the past, I am content with the spiritual aspect of it too. When it's at its best, we both feel unconditionally accepted. There is a very private aspect to it. All 12 house stuff. However, the 'secret', 'unrequited', 'unspoken', repressed, or let's say flooded or submerged qualities of 12th house isn't felt. Quite to the contrary, the relationship rendered us more seen and outgoing - we have both been behaving much more 1st house. So I'm wondering... is there no 1st house influence at all? Other synastry experiences very welcome. Thanks everyone!
