Fore example, I have a close friend who I have a double whammy Nessus conjunct sun in synastry. Yet we are the closest of friends. There is no abuse or animosity between us at all.

It just seems to me that these "doom and gloom" asteroid predictions are taking astrology into a very negative place.

I think it's more the case for 'potential', as any energy is.

Like for instance, if the people are aware of themselves and their actions, there's less chance of that part of the shadow coming out. You may even find that your experiences with the themes of whatever asteroid may be similar.

It can go both ways though. I've had a friend with their Nessus conjunct my Sun, and though we were amazing friends for almost 3-4 years, it eventually got to a point that it became very toxic. There were aspects of our shadow sides we hadn't faced yet, and it came out pretty bad.

With Nessus, my experience has been that the person in question tends towards either being bullied, or having a bully-like tendency, whether they realize it or have 'grown' from it. Any time I've had someone's Nessus on my personal planet, I end up feeling very bullied (whether softly/playfully or rudely/ignorantly).

And same for if someone's planet lands on my Nessus- my playful bully nature comes out (think older sibling ribbing on a younger one), but it could be whatever your own experience is.

I've also experienced a few people's Moon on my Nemesis asteroid. These people tend to build up a level of distrust in me in regards to their emotional swings, as often times they end up lashing out at me, or I completely close off from them and end up a 'villain' or Nemesis to them.

I've had the opposite as well, with someone's Nemesis on my Moon. I can't speak for the Nemesis person, but I know that there were times where I felt emotionally weak or like they really had it out for me (when it was almost NEVER the case- it's just what the energy felt like).

I can kinda touch on these too! I have Lucifer conjunct my Jupiter in Leo- feels a little bit like a 'complex'. The rebel child who can never quite get the 'right' kind of attention, but more in the sense of Lucifer = Lightbringer. I can shed HUGE amounts of light on things, but it's not always for the benefit of everyone (sometimes just me- sometimes just one party).

With Lust it can feel like an area of 'I am REALLY really attracted to you, but it might just be entirely physical'. I've had this conjunct a few people's personal planets and it can be WOWZA in the attraction department, but over time it can feel a little shallow if there isn't anything else holding up in the charts.
