For context - if 5th house is in Aquarius in ones chart, would you look at the aspects made to both Uranus and Saturn when interpreting?

What is your preference/strategy when working with something like this?

***** I meant ‘secondary ruler’ in the title, sorry****

I would say yes, but also in that's how to interpret any synastry overlay; first house ruled by Scorpio? Look at what Mars and Pluto are doing for some insight to that 1st house overlay, etc etc.

Yes, I look at both rulers. IME they both come into play. My strategy is to look at House placements and aspects to both rulers. Consider their relative strength. I give more weight to the stronger ruler.

Thanks both, I appreciate it’s quite an amateurish question.

So, in this case Uranus make no aspects what so ever (neither in declination) to the others chart. Although, Saturn in strongly aspected (including a conjunction by the others Sun).

Would you need aspects to both rulers to activate the respective house energy.

I wouldn't say so. If Saturn is the stronger planet, then it'll have a stronger influence. However you have to see how strong the planets are for each individual before really seeing how heavy synastry is.

Thanks

I have just looked on Astro; Pullen chart delineation, and Saturn has more weighting than Uranus (5th and 6th respectively).

By this logic, Saturn has more influence on the individuals natal chart than Uranus, admittedly only slightly.
