Hello everyone! This is going to be a long post so please bear with me! I’d really appreciate it if other people looked at these in their own synastry charts and posted the results. In the past year, a woman has come into my life who I’ve had an intense karmic relationship with, along with a tight friendship and a romantic relationship. I firmly believe she is my twin flame, and iQ, from our charts, has confirmed that we are at least some form of soulmate. I found an interesting pattern in our charts with “soulmate” asteroid pairs. For this, I used the following pairs that I’ve seen on a number of lists:
Mars and Venus
Jupiter and Juno
Zeus(5731) and Hera (103) (Greek version of above pair)
Neptune and Salacia(120347)
Pluto and Proserpina(26/h57)/Persephone (399)
Eros(433) and Psyche(16)
Adonis(2101) and Innanen(3497)
Chiron and Chariklo(10199)
Kaali(4227)/Parvati(2847) and Siva(1170)/Rudra(2629)
Isis(42) and Osiris(1923)
Ptah(5011) and Sekhmet(5381) or Ubasti(4257)
5731,103,120347,26,h57,399,433,16,2101,3497
10199,4227,2847,1170,2629,42,1923,5011,5381,4257
(asteroids grouped into two 10s for your convenience)
Natal to natal I’ll use what’s typically a “tight orb” for natal charts: 3°0’ for conjunctions and 2°0’ for all other aspects. Natal-natal we have:
My Rudra trine her Kaali
Just one aspect in the huge list I put above. Pretty bad, right? I was sure disheartened when I saw that. But then I started checking our natal-draconic synastry, as the draconic chart is typical viewed as a chart for the soul, and, thus, might not be gendered in the same way.
Since we’re now comparing 8 points per pair, as opposed to 4, I’m tightening the orb. For the following aspects I kept the orb of conjunctions to 2°0’ and the orb of all other aspects to 1°0’. Note that that means all aspects that aren’t conjunctions are exact. The two conjunctions listed below are non-exact.
Natal-draconic we have:
My d Jupiter square her n Juno
My d Pluto sextile her n Proserpina
My d Salacia trine her n Neptune
My d Innanen conjunct her n Adonis
My d Chariklo trine her n Chiron
My n Parvati trine her d Siva
My n Osiris trine her n Isis
My n Ptah conjunct her d Ubasti
An aspect for nearly every pair! Additionally, she has Psyche conjunct Eros, and, while our natals and draconics don’t aspect at all, her draconic Psyche/Eros conjunction is exactly conjunct my natal Asc, which I’ve always thought is pretty cool.
I decided to also check the heliocentric synastry, as the heliocentric chart is thought to convey the “higher self” and so I thought it might remove the gender aspects. We have, again exact:
My h Venus square her h Mars
My h Hera opposite her h Zeus
My h Innanen trine her h Adonis
My h Osiris square her h Isis
My h Ptah trine her h Ubasti
Not as many, although I haven’t seen asteroids compared on heliocentric charts so I don’t know if it has any validity either way.
Now, I’d like to introduce a number of homosexual mythological couples. This was more difficult, as I tried to stay away from pairs whose story boils down to “they had sex one time” which makes up a lot of queer myths. Some of the better queer myths also didn’t have asteroids for one or both of the pair. If anyone has good pairs not listed below, please let me know and I’ll add them! I included a bit of context for each pair as well, but feel free to skip reading it.
Male:
Zeus(5731) and Ganymed(1036) – the classic
Achilles(588) and Patroclus(617) - “close comrades” in the Illiad, and Achilles mourned Patroclus like a lover
Hermes(69230) and Crocus(1220) – one myth says Crocus was Hermes’s lover, and Hermes accidentally killed Crocus in a game of discus, and was so distraught that he turned him into the flower. Parallels a similar story of Apollo and Hyacinth, but there is no Hyacinth asteroid.
5731,1036,588,617,69230,1220
Female:
Artemis(105)/Diana(78) and Kallisto(204) – Zeus disguised himself as Artemis to get Callisto to sleep with him, not to mention Artemis surrounded herself with nymphes and kept away from men
Pallas and Athene(881) – Pallas is an alternative name for Athena, however she was a separate deity and one myth has Pallas and Athena as lovers, with Athena accidentally killing Pallas, being distraught, and taking on her name
Ruth(798) and Naomi(6139) – the vow between these woman in the Bible is used as marriage vows and their love is compared to that of Adam and Eve. While hotly debated as to whether they were homosexual, analysis of the Bible via queer theory would definitely say so
105,78,204,881,798,6139
Since we are comparing natal to natal and there’s four instead of eight points per pair, I’ll use what’s typically a “tight orb” for natal charts: 3°0’ for conjunctions and 2°0’ for all other aspects:
My Zeus trine her Ganymed
My Crocus exact opposite her Hermes
My Kallisto sextile her Diana
My Naomi exact conjunct her Ruth
Not an aspect for every pair, but quite a number of them. The Naomi and Ruth conjunction was the first thing I found and what led me to keep poking and make this thread, given the deep nature of their connection. I was a bit surprised to see we also have close aspects for male-male pairs!
I’m really interested to see if this concept, having a low percentage of heterosexual “couple” asteroids in aspect natal-natal, but high percentage natal-draconic and a high percentage of homosexual “couple” asteroids in aspect natal-natal, holds for other same sex soulmate pairs. It has very interesting implications for the nature of gender in our charts and as soulmates.
