I saw this in a composite report by Robert Hand on www.astro.com.

Now, obviously, Mr Hand is a waaaaaay more experienced and respected astrologer than me, but...

...isn't this the wrong way of doing things?

I've always heard if a planet is in a house, its in a house no matter how close it is to the border. Otherwise, couldn't I say "Capguy's Moon is technically near the end of Virgo (being 29 degrees) and is therefore interpreted in Libra"?

That wouldn't wash with most astrology folk I know - so why the exception here?

I don't know what to believe either, but I've read that it becomes similar to a Sun-cusp placement -- it's a little of both houses, or if directly on the cusp, it's a very potent energy of that house. However, i find this to be an even more confusing interpretation, since it seems to dilute the meaning of the planet's house placement, but whatever. i know several people with placements like that and the descriptions of both houses fit them very much.. so idk.

His description of this is not isolated to his own interpretation. There are many astrologers who feel this way as well.

It does not entirely negate the representation of the house the planets fall into, but they do take on qualities of the next house over.

Think about it this way, if you look at the midpoint of two planets, you get the blending of two energy sources in a sometimes completely different house or sign. Or if you have a planet close to an angle, it puts a spin on the blending of energy.

It doesn't take away from the original placement, but may give clues as to what dynamic the planets may take on from an alternate perspective.

For example, if I have a Scorpio asc, and have Uranus close to that angle, it may actually act as a chameleon to my appearance at times.

So if you have planets in the late degrees of a house, think about how the bordering house would flavor the original placement.

I love Robert hand btw.

^^ Thanks!

I found this interesting because I've recently discovered I seem to get on very well, emotionally, with people with Libra Moons.

By all accounts, I shouldn't: my Moon's in Virgo and I only have Pluto in an Air sign otherwise. My Moon is, however, at a very late degree of Virgo (29 degrees).

That said, I also seem to "click" well with other Virgo Moons too.

When I asked about this before I was told "nope, if its in Virgo its in Virgo and all the rules of Moon in Virgo apply". Which is why I found Robert's interpretation curious.

FWW, I do have my IC in Libra which I've also wondered might account for clicking well with Libran Moons. But in that case - unless their IC is in Virgo - I wonder whether they would feel the same?
