house overlays don't matter all that much unless they're conjunct an angle or make an aspect to important planets.

Don't matter at all? I'm not sure that's really accurate. For example I have 4th house placements with someone. And I feel very comfortable and famliar with this person. Regards to either or not we have harsh aspects. That doesn't change the fact that I feel comfortable with this person. Well the fourth house is an angular house so that could be why.
