I found that I’ve had this specific aspect with some people, one of them is one of my family members and two other friends of mine. The conjunction in all three Composite and Davison charts are at 0 degrees to the Descendant. There aren’t any planet closely conjunct to it.

I feel like it’s very karmic, but I’m not sure if it’s a common one or not.

you are correct , the vertex axis is conjunct dsc/asc axis is extremely indicative of "karmic" connection.
this can give a psychihc/astral connection but in most cases there is a great deal of interference and confusion so that the psychic connection is often unreliable.

with friends, this aspect can give you other worldly or paranormal experiences of feelings thst can g9ve a certain intimacy as these usual occurrences are usually so unique that often one does not expect anyone else to have similar feelings. the experiences themselves are usually different but the affect on the individuals personality are similar. sometimes it is a sense that you were destined to met each other because of some knowledge or understanding that you can impart to each other. but the specific manifestations are myriad but the sense of a destiny is commonly felt with this conjunction.

with a family member , this conjunction would give very similar feelings and reponses to outside stimuli and likely you have had some type of other worldly experiences.

you might look to see what is aspecting the vertex/dsc and also look at he node and aspects to it. the node often can give rational focus to the nebulous energy of the vertex.

this conjunction can be positive or negative depending on other aspects.
