Hi All! I am new to astrology and also new to this site and would really appreciate some help.

I have recently started seeing this guy and he is almost 6 years older than me, but I really enjoy his company and would like to see him potentially long term.

in our composite we have a lot of Uranus:

Uranus conjunction Neptune
Venus square Uranus
Uranus sextile Pluto
Mars sextile Uranus
Sun square Uranus
Jupiter sextile Uranus

but we also have these aspects which are said to be good:
Sun conjunction Venus
Sun conjunction Mercury
Mercury conjunction Venus
Mercury trine Saturn

Could someone tell me how Uranus would work in this relationship? Will we not be able to work long term?

In synastry we have Uranus trine Venus but it is a square in composite. Also I seem to have a lot of Uranus in my natal but I am still a pretty clingy/needy person sometimes - might be my leo moon.

If you want to make it work long term, and he wants to make it work long term and you communicate and put in the work, no aspect will get in the way as natal, synastry, composites, etc merely serve as blueprints and hints on how to make things work and no single (or even 2 or 3 or 4 or more) aspect will doom, or bless a relationship.

With heavy Uranus, you need to give each other plenty of room to be independent and free. Some say it will be an open relationship but it doesn't have to be.

I'm actually not surprised to hear this and this isn't Leo Moon. I've heard of people saying how detached they are due to their natal Venus square Uranus (not sure if you have this aspect?) but that's not what I observed. My friends with this aspect are actually rather clingy/needy. They also tend to heat up too fast and then act hot/cold...
