Read somewhere (Venus TRINE Pluto) that these 2 people come together/meet and there are usually obstacles such as relationships/work/travel etc that stand in the way and that despite Pluto/Venus wanting to “pounce” (the feelings are almost overbearingly strong) the main goal is to just wait because if it’s meant to be, it will be.

Any truth to this?

And also, while thinking about what I read, looking back at my life, I have ALWAYS pounced and I’m fairly certain that most of these situations have involved Venus/Pluto. I got what I wanted but it faded just as quickly..

My besties ( husband and wife ) - together 20 years together..

they have Venus trine Pluto - I believe this is one of the aspects that has kept them together.

The passion and the love is always there even though they can not get along.

Composite or Synastry? With aspects in Synastry. It might not much obstacles, but intense in the beginning .
With composite Venus Pluto, the above description fits.

Venus (Me) trine Pluto (husband).

I have the aspect in my natal chart too.

In a relationship I tend to let it flow. I don't chase someone and not trying to make myself being chased intentionally. I think, this makes me attract the person who is more suitable for a relationship to me (despite differences may be occurred) and the relationship keeps in a stable passion (which is a good thing for a long term relationship I think).

Not sure what does it mean as "faded quickly"? For me, if I have ever fall in love, the memory of the person stays forever in my mind but the feeling may not be there anymore once I decide to end it. The one who is troubled letting go is the Pluto in my case, but I think it also depends on the natal chart of the Pluto and Venus person.

Related to what I read, that 2 people with these aspects in synastry, shouldn't just give in to their feelings and forget about life and prior commitments. They should apparently wait it out and if it's meant to be, it will be.

I didn't wait, on most occasions. I went for what I wanted and it didn't last. That's what I meant with "faded quickly".

in my case it’s very true. obstacles regarding everything you listed: other relationship, work plus travel distance.
the pull is so strong yet it’s almost impossible for us to be together yet we keep coming back to each other. it’s like a drug. it feels like it’ll never go away. it’s been years of such behavior. and when we see each other after let’s say 10 months... we’re back where we started as if no time had passed.
