hey there guys,

Would like to share some points about vedic astrology.

1. The worst mistake you could make is applying western knowledge of astrology when trying to interpret your vedic chart, especially meaning of houses.

2. Use the vedic method of calculation when creating a chart.

3. All planets aspect 7th from it, however saturn (3,10,7), mars (4,8,7), jupiter (5,9,7) and the nodes have special aspects (5,9,7) some believe 3rd.

4. Planets have exaltation and debilitation signs, however degrees are crucial approaching degree of exaltation is way stronger than an exiting exaltation degree.
for example Jupiter at 5degs cancer is a stronger exalted Jupiter than Jupiter at 20degs the same applies for debilitation.

5. Ascendant and its lord hold the most importance in a natal chart.

6. If you want to learn vedic astrology start with the basics,
-House grouping
-Houses and their meaning
-Planet and what they stand for.
-A planets sign of moola trikona, debilitation and exaltation.
-Read BRIHAT PARASARA HORA SHASTRA (you cant build anything without knowing its floor plan)
-Yogas, that cancel negative state of debilitation however that is slightly more advance for a beginner.

7. Don't get scared off by automated computer generated readings.

8. Vedic astrolgy has many branches, KP, Jamini, Bhrigu, to name a few.
Vedic astrology is a super science however it requires one to have some level intuition.

9. Vedic astrology isn't difficult, it is just a lot of knowledge that needs to be applied.

10. Maha dashas give you a clue about the current flow of your life pattern.

11. There is more than one chart to analyze, we also look at divisional charts (depending on the area of life you want to see.
12. There are many layers when interpreting a chart, don't rely on one aspect to draw a conclusion.

13. Dont forget to learn about nakshatras and padas, it is a filter that creates uniqueness between people of the same signs.

Remember your entire life is encrypted in your natal, stay positive always.

What do you mean 'all planets aspect 7th from it'? Like the Sun would always aspect Jupiter because it's the 7th planet from the Sun, which means Moon would always aspect Saturn (and so on)?

It just means an opposition aspect. You count the house that a planet is in up to 7 and it's an opposing aspect. For example my Moon is in the 4th. 7 places from it is the 10th house which has my Jupiter therefore my Moon and Jupiter are in a mutual opposition to each other.

its the same as NoireAries has said,

say you have mars in your ascendant (1st house), count anticlockwise on your vedic chart starting from the 1st house count 4 places (mars 4th aspect)
mars is aspecting your 4th house
then 7th from it will be your 7th house (7th aspect), mars is aspecting your 7th house as well.
now if mars were in your 2nd house
it would aspect 5th house, 8th and 11th house.
hope that helps
