I was feeling curious about Vedic Astrology(I'm sorry i'm not sure where to post this). And so i made my chart. In the North Indian Chart i have Rahu in the 1st, Ketu is in the 7th. Here's a short interp for this that i found:"The female natives may confront abortion due to the presence of Rahu in 1st house besides which his/her spouse would have health problems." Sounds pretty bad... Here's the site if you want to do your chart too http://www.galacticcenter.org/wrapper/90.html Please help, where can I find more interpreations?? Is Vedic Astrology so important or i'm "wasting" my time? I don't understand anything!! IP: Logged |

Vedic is so crazy negative...Makes me wonder if it's a reflection of older, harder times in India? Before modern medicine, when people just expected to suffer more. :-/ You might learn a lot at the Vedic Astrology subforum here...have you checked that out yet? IP: Logged |

Hey love, you REALLY have to take these translations with a grain of salt. I have studied Vedic sciences - from Vedanta to Ayurveda to Vedic Astrology- and the translations are most often really sh*t. They are also written many years ago when life was MUCH different; ie lifespans were like 30 years, so a lot of it really is so fatalistic and not very applicable.Even Rahu/Ketu, just simply knowing the houses doesn't tell you nearly enough.. You need to know what the rulers of the houses are, their condition, what planets they conjuct, other planetary aspects, whether they are exalted or debilitated, etc... So I would NOT worry. If things in the explanations resonate, take that and LEAVE the rest, otherwise you are best not even getting lost reading these descriptions, it will only give you anxiety! Check out KRS on youtube, he is a bit more modern with the Vedic stuff. IP: Logged |

I would say the GENERAL description for your placement is that your life purpose is about your own energy, creating yourself, investing yourself, developing yourself. Rahu first house people have a BIG presence, because they are meant to. Ketu is what you naturally detatch from as the flip side in what you are naturally drawn to, so naturally if your life purpose is about developing yourself, relationships with others become a bit less important. Even take THAT with a grain of salt, lol. Also, rahu and ketu are consdiered malefic so the descriptions for ANY placement are not usually good.IP: Logged |

I know what you're saying about the negativity. I've come across some heavy destructive stuff!! Missblyss.... Thanks for saying there's better stuff out there. I like your attitude! I know I came across ONE person's video who was (I thought) VERY very Loving about his interpretations. I would LOVE to get a hug from THAT man!! Mother Teresa of Calcutta did her work there. She modeled having Compassion and cared for their sick, poor, and the dying who were neglected within their thought-system and culture... Do No Harm, Only Love IP: Logged |
