Something few talk about, but needs to be said is this. When you first make your conscious choice for IMMORTALITY, you might notice that suddenly your whole life seems to be turned toppsy-turvy. Everything you think you know or believe...everything you do or try to do...the way your life was comes slamming home! Like your life has been picked up, turned upside down and SHOOK really hard just to see what falls out of your pockets. You suddenly start to wonder what is going wrong. I made this choice so things would be better. WHY WHY WHY is all this starting to happen...this is NOT better!!!! You see, a choice for Immortality is a deep testing of the Spirit, not the Soul...it will determine if you are sincere or not....since there are so many 'yous' out there, is this the one that means it. One way to endure these tests is to learn balance. Roll with the tests, don't fight them...let BALANCE be your key word... Then one day you will suddenly realize your life has straightened out and is going alone just fine. You have passed the worst test, and now it is all learning to cope with your new life. There will be many many new roads to explore along the way, what with all the new 'pieces' of yours-ELF merging with the you of you. With your strengthened BALANCE you will learn to ride the shock waves with grace...Peace will be your companion. So, don't get discouraged by the new bumpy road...keep your destination in sight. Let your Spirit know that this Soul is going to succeed. Be persistent. BALANCE...BALANCE...BALANCE.. Keep repeating to yours-ELF... "This too shall pass..."

Purple Lep, I hope you werne't saying that I was a "deathist".... cuz I'm not. I just have always taken Immortality as being Right because Linda said so. I'm on a quest now, to find out for mys-elf exactly what that means. I asked what the benefits of immortality were because I wanted to hear from people who lived it. I'm learning. I haven't stopped asking questions or growing. I refuse to. Don't take this wrong, I just got a bit nervous by the end of your last post. I'm a Taurus, but a bit quakey at times (not quacky, quakey). Yivy, I resonated well with your post... it's all about balance. Do you think people who choose to be Immortals have the Thunderbolt Path of Accelerated Karma? Sometimes I think, oh it's so much to do.... but then... how can you deprive yours-elf of something so beautiful as immortality? I must admit I'm a bit squeamish about the topic of Immortality; that is why I haven't posted a lot on this board. I'm squeamish because I have so many questions and I'm afraid I will be judged if I have them. Now I know perfectly well I won't be judged here at this place... but it's still the taurus shaking in her hooves.... Peace and love, LMB IP: Logged |

LMB, Dan wasn't directing the last part of his Post at you (it's for those that put down immortality or ask in a sarcastic manner). Read it again in that context, and you will see. And yes, you will NEVER be judged here for anything you say, ask, or question. This is a great Topic, and I look forward to posting my thoughts soon. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

For now, I would just briefly like to say that immortality allows us to make everything right again in our Lives. It is so difficult BEing born into circumstances that we don't have remembrance of (Karma). No matter how bad things are, as Immortals, we can make it right again. If we were all Immortals and faced our Karma NOW and not in some distant unforseen future Life, we would take care of the Earth and Love each other unconditionally. We would value Life above death and helping One another above our own selfish needs. It would be a new Earth. There would be eternal Peace. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

It's not easy seeing the meanings behind words (with no inflection or body language involved), but we all do a terrific job on this site. And you, LMB, do an even better job than most! ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

There are many Paths to Rome. Each of Us is unique. Each of Us can follow a paved road or pave our own; yet, no Path is inherently any better than any other. I am immortal. That is a simple Truth. How I may choose to be so can be debated with or disbelieved, but it is simply so. If a person tells me they are immortal due to eating soil, drinking lighter fluid, or wearing Alex Chiu magnet bracelets, I am in no position to doubt it. Somehow, I think the benefits are as uniquely individualistic as the methods, beliefs, and Paths we use to attain it. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." Randall, I am immortal because I drink plenty of lighter fluids, eat only fertilized soil, and Alex Chiu is my brother. You do not doubt this? Give me a break! If you do not doubt this, then you will believe anything, and that is not good! Doubt in Peace! IP: Logged |

I doubt those things would work for me; however, having Alex Chiu as your brother is definitely a plus. Immortality is based upon belief in its possibility, i.e., in the overcoming (coming over) of the belief in the inevitability of death. The other Rituals are inconsequential without this ingredient (the elusive Philosopher's Stone of alchemy), and all the mantras, meditating, clean air, clean water, and vegan Lifestyles in the world won't elude death without releasing One's loyalty to it, without relinquishing One's fears about it, and without truly understanding what causes it, what its function truly is, why it exists, and why it isn't real. Death is nothing. It has no power over humans, but that we give it such with our false belief in it by deferring to it. I embrace it, I understand it, I identify with it, I rebuke it. Linda understood a little too late, but she will get it right next time. All is as it should be... ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

Of course the belief in the possibility must be there, this is for the physical. But you must also be worthy, this is from the spiritual. IP: Logged |

I would argue that the Spiritually unworthy would not be able to comprehend immortality, much less beLIeVE in it. The selfish, greedy, murdering, nonrespecters of Life spend the bulk of their time doing other things. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

I agree with most of what has been said here but one of the most important benefits for me is that I will be around to enjoy the fruits of my labours, also that what knowledge I gain will not be wasted by my death and that my store of knowledge will continue to grow. What might have been accomplished by people like Albert Einstein if he was immortal" What works of art by Michaelangelo? Or songs by Harry Chapin? When a person dies the world loses not only the person, but also whatever that person may have accomplished. ------------------ I have loved,I love,I will love. Hi Grey,I love it that you put Harry Chapin up there with Michaelangelo and Einstein. He was a rather spectacular human being. I think that most people don't know how much of a humanitarian he was. And I have never EVER known anyone who could "tell a story" in a song the way he could. We lost alot when we lost him!! IP: Logged |

Hi Pegesus: Harry Chapin was as much a genius as anyone when it comes to storytelling and you are absolutely right about nobody doing it better, the only person that even comes close is also lost to us for now, Marty Robbins. ------------------ I have loved,I love,I will love. Grey IP: Logged |

"Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl."It really IS a small world. I grew up listening to Marty Robbins. Mostly his western songs. He put the "western" in "country and western" music. You know, he stated publicly that he believed in reincarnation. If you've ever heard "El Paso City" there's no doubt. I can't tell you how surprised I am!! IP: Logged |

You will notice that things tend to spiral a lot around here, I don't think any appologies are necessary. I like to sing at karaoke bars and on occasion with a friends band and El Paso is by far my favourite song to sing. ------------------ I have loved,I love,I will love. Grey IP: Logged |
