This is an article about medical advances that will allow us to live to 1000... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4003063.stm It's a fascinating read. Apparently the first to benefit from this are already about 60. people will still die... but not of old age. They'll die because they got hit by a car or other such misfortune. I believed Linda when she said physical immortality was possible, but it blows my mind that it may be possible so soon and on such a large scale... IP: Logged |

Even accidents can be prevented by true Immortals (though science will never admit it, since it can't be done with a pill). ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Does anyone really want to live that long in this miserable planet Overpopulated, deforested, extinct animal and plants.... I feel suffocated talking about it IP: Logged |

Randall What if though, you feel you are not from here at all, and you know that you're meant to go home, except you feel torn between the two. hmmm, I suppose one will know when the time is right, right? IP: Logged |

Oh, but of course, you can go home even if you do choose to stay here, but the longing, the yearning, will be painful at times, i'm sure. I love it when I answer my own questions. IP: Logged |

I do! Me, me, me! I didnt think I did until recently though. Check out some of the Immortality articles I posted, IAT. Or read LG's Physical Immortality chapter in Star Signs and you'll see why it makes sense. I read the above article a few days ago and they mentioned something about testing Immortality on rats or mice first - something like that. As far as I know, animals cant be immortal. (I guess the scientists dont realize this yet. ) Somethings just dont need to be tested and proven by scientists to be real. Or they CAN'T be proven scientifically - with our current methods of testing.....when will they learn? I'm not waiting around for everything to be proven for me, before I believe it. This is a fascinating article: The imperishable body of Buddhist lama mesmerizes medics 12/02/2004 14:10 Sensational results of a thorough examination of the imperishable body of a Buddhist lama were made public the other day in Moscow, Russia. http://english.pravda.ru/science/19/94/377/14670_.html

That's odd. I read the article...he died yet his body hasn't even entered rigor mortis after decades! But if he no longer inhabits the body, how is it sustained? Does he plan on coming back to it?! ------------------ ~nae ;-) IP: Logged |

Thats a funny thought nae... I suppose its all that cellular regeneration that has continued after his soul departed, so that tells you, once you start the process, it's not likely to fail. ------------------ "That which cannot be said should not be said." --Ludwig Wittgenstein IP: Logged |
