good links yin thanks!!also though it may not be 100% foolproof WHOLEFOODS (tho some call it whole paycheck) is a good source for non-gmo foods as it is part of their company mission to NEVER sell gmos in their store. i for one keep on them about this and apparently they have joined the "campaign for real food" ie non-gmos and at the very least CLEAR labelling that makes them easier to avoid... You're welcome, kat.It will be some time before I trust WholeFoods again after the selling of non-organic frozen food from around the world that was marked as organic. But it's great that a corporation is doing this. Maybe more will follow suit. IP: Logged |

i think there was onlysuspicion cast that that imported food was not organic. they do swear that they have checkers who travel to each of their growers and that "made in china" stuff was actually organically grown. who knows? i never heard a definite outcome of that, though everyone assumes nothing chinese can be organic i doubt that's true... nor have i ever heard of anyone finding plastic bits in WF's baby food. i go to local farmers for fruit and veg so i know where it came from.nobody's perfect. i am just glad they are there mainstreaming organic stuff and throwing their corporate weight on the right side of the effort to save at least SOME of our food from total mutation. but i'm glad you don't trust them. "vigilance is the price of freedom" was a proverb drummed into my head as a child...better to keep alert and not be hoodwinked, for sure. a radio show all about organics was discussing the fact that no matter how rigorous you are there is no way to check each grain and kernel so you can swear it wasn't cross=fertilized by something nasty, you can only do your best... Yeah, I wish more places catered to a vegetarian diet where I live. Been thinking about the Pacific Northwest lately. IP: Logged |
