T O P I C R E V I E WhannaramaaI just did a reading for a girl and got the King of Cups, 9 of Wands and King of Wands. The 9 of Wands next to the cup made me think of the 9 of Cups and how that's supposedly the end all to Wish cards. But why can't ALL the 9's be wish cards to some extent? Why can't the 9 of Wands be a "wish" card for the Wands suit, or 9 of Pentacles be a wish card for that? And then I remind myself "There's also the 9 of Swords," AHA but we could say when this card appears that whomever wishes their negative thoughts would go away. Am I right? What do you guys think about calling all the 9 cards "wish" cards?CeridwenI think it is a misleading term actually. The 9`s are all rather "lonely" cards, like the Hermit in a way, but n th case of 9 of pentacles and 9 of cups, the people (a woman and a man interestingly) are content with their aloneness. They seem to have anything they want, and are simply content, independent, selfsufficient. Everything is somehow alright with them at that given moment of time. In a way there is nothing more to wish for, cause they have anything they might have wished for (and new longings have not yet arised). In the case of the other 9 cards, the 9 of wands might wish for more strength and the 9 of swords might wish for clarity of mind. They are clearly not content, but also at a rather stagnant point in their life. At least in terms of relatedness. They are thrown back to their own. BTW personally I find the guy in the 9 of cups looks a little too smug for me to like this card. lolJessica2407No I don't even see the 9 of cups as the wish card! I feel it's self centered card, the person has pampered himself/herself and is content with how things are, not wanting to change things.May be they wish that things can be done their way!Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by Jessica2407:No I don't even see the 9 of cups as the wish card! However I do think that the Star represents wishes, but more in the sense of hope for the future. VenusDiSiriusNo magical wands?! Now, Ceridwen, if you're going to pop some harsh truth bombs, I demand a forewarning, so I can pick up my blanket... Like a boss! ... Which brings me to the subject of this thread and that's 9/C. 9 of Cups is #LikeABawse card. Nothing wrong with that! When I see the 9 of cups in my spread, depending on other cards, it signals that the querent wishes may not be respected or are being ignored OR it can represent the querent as the guy that is in the card as someone who is emotionally content in his world. The 9 of pentacles is financially happy. The 9 of wands is not happy at all at how things are going, they've been through tough times and at this point failure is not an option. 9 of swords is a lonely card, mental alienation, guilt, shame, beating yourself up because of past mistakes.Ceridwen quote:Originally posted by VenusDiSirius:No magical wands?!
