MoonMystic | Are conjuncts the most powerful of aspects? A sextile is more so than a trine, right? I've been studying a chart and see a specific object conjunct one chart but trine the AC to the second chart. |
lalalinda | Hello Moon Mystic! Welcome to LL conjunctions/oppositions are probably the strongest aspects closely followed by squares, trines and then sextiles. |
MoonMystic | Hi Lala Linda. Thanks! For the welcome and the answer. |
soren | the power of each aspect likely goes like this 12/1 = conjunction 12/2 = opposition (divide the circle by half) 12/3 = trine 12/4 = square 12/5 = quintiles of all forms (includes quintile and biquintile) 12/6 = sextile 12/7 = septile 12/8 = sesquiquadrates 12/9 = novile (40°) 12/10 = decile 12/11 = undecile 12/12 = semi-sextile although if you had 2 planets in opposition, a planet squaring them would most likely be more powerful than an object trining one of the 2 opposition planets and sextiling the other, because the square would create a mid point |
girlwiththerainysoul | personally I believe all aspects are just as powerful. no aspect in my opinion is minor. |
visions | i will tend to put square after conjunction and before opposition and trines. because square is internal tension whereas opposition is external/outer tension, it comes from your relationship with others that point out yours issues related to the planet in oppositions but like Freud said you can always leave or escape outer tensions but you cannot leave an inner tension coming from your drives.(Freud, "Drives and their Fate"(1915)) |
soren | the top is the sun trine moon aspect. the middle row is the square, the bottom is a row of quintiles. |
