T O P I C R E V I E WGeminiLover75I'm having a difficult time with my boyfriend's (and my) worse side coming out recently. All of a sudden the worse parts of his personality relating to the Aries ascendant seem to be pronounced (demanding, selfish, totally ego-tripping). It's draining a lot of my energy and I'm finding that this energy he's putting out is driving me away. In return, my own worse side relating to my Sagittarius ascendant is coming out - I'm being blunt, critical, and very direct in those criticisms. Like I just can't help myself. The strange thing is that this energy has peaked since we've been out of town together. We've been on holidays together before and this has never happened, but for some reason almost as soon as we got here it all started to flare up for no reason. I wonder if there's something to do with this latitude that doesn't agree with our ascendants, or something else astrological going on? I checked our transits and didn't see anything. I did just have a series of transits to my Pluto recently... ?Any suggestions as to what could cause this energy to our ascendants?and.chrissymgreenWhat is your composite ascendant with your boyfriend, and is it being targeted by a major transit?and.GeminiLover75Thanks for the quick replies! Mars transiting his 7th house sounds like a major culprit to me... thanks for pointing that out. As for our composite ascendant, I never know which is correct. On astro.com our composite ascendant is Aquarius, but on astro.com's Davison chart our composite ascendant is Cancer. I think. Let me just check that... back soon.GeminiLover75Ok I just checked it and I was right. I'm not sure which is the correct chart to use though? Either way Mars is always a strong influence for us, that's always been obvious - in the first chart it's on our composite ascendant and in the second chart it's in our composite 7th house. Usually it keeps things interesting and exciting. But it is in harsh aspect with two other planets. In composite we are a grand air trine with a kite formation in fire (Sag).Mars just transited his Uranus, which would account for some recent irritability that he said he didn't know the reason for. It's not in his 7th house yet so there is that to "look forward to". Usually we put any troubles down to transits - he asked me what my transits were quite recently and I had just been through several ones to my Pluto. Having this knowledge always makes things forgivable because we know they are exactly what "transits" implies - "transitory". But this one has been quite hard for me to deal with because that "bad Aries side" seems to be a constant presence in the last few days and it is really grating on my nerves!chrissymgreenHey there Gemlover,Each of those charts has a different function (composite and Davison), both very valid. In a nutshell, the composite chart seems to speak to relationship issues that are internal/within the relationship dynamic, while the Davison chart speaks to the externals of the relationship, the how, what and when. I'm not saying that this is exclusive, but that this is a general tendency. For example, I've observed that a lot of relationships begin when something conjuncts the Asc of the Davison by transit (first meeting, first date, et cetera), while I haven't seen this with the composite. However, when something conjuncts the Asc of the composite, often a couple is more awakened to the sense of themselves as a couple. It's a subtle difference, but a valid one.The Davison can seem much more 'real', and the subtleties of the composite a bit more difficult to grasp, but I use them both now and get much out of them. Many of the Davison and composites do look alike, but the Davison is adding a physical dimension to what is essentially conceptual, and the differences in practice can be striking, even when the charts seem alike. If the composite chart with your boyfriend has an Aquarius ascendant, it is worth noting Neptune's current transit through Aquarius. Not only that, but the current t-square between Neptune, Saturn (Leo), and Jupiter (Scorpio) should be taken into consideration. Neptune could be riding the composite Ascendant, with Saturn on the DC, and Jupiter the MC. http://www.aquariuspapers.com/astrology/2006/08/how_the_jupiter.html chrissymgreenThis site has some good info on current transits too, good stuff on the Ju/Sa/Ne t-square: http://www.astrologyinsights.com/events/current.html GeminiLover75Thanks for all of this info! Very helpful. It seems that Mars is affecting both of us. Interesting...Shining RayI have a Virgo Ascendant and so I can get a little bit critical to my partner but it is only because I care. It's funny because I am critical over him not having things organized and it annoys me (but I can be disorganized myself). Projection hey.Shining Ray
