MsLeora | What does it mean when ones natal chart has a lot of empty houses? My friends chart doesn't have any planet or asteroids (that I know of) in her 1st, 7th, 10th, and 12th houses. Her 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 11th are heavily packed though. Please explain. Thanks. |
Randall | Welcome! |
etherealsaturn | It just means that the energy most important to you is elsewhere. For instance, if you have an empty fourth house, that doesn't mean family or where you come from isn't important to you, it's just not as much of a focus for you in this lifetime as wherever your planets are. There is still an energy for each house. Look at the sign on the cusp of that house, and look for where the ruler of that sign is in your chart. Hope this is helpful |
MsLeora | Thank you for your replies. I have one more question regarding the empty houses: my 5th house in Gemini is really empty (no planets or major asteroids there). Guys who have something in Gemini (Moon, Sun, Mars, or Venus) tend to attract me at first sight. But the energy never transforms into something more. I understand there are other aspects playing the part here but let's just pretend that they're not as important, is it because my energy is not focused in the 5th house that I don't feel like investing myself in a Gemini related sign? |
Randall | None in the 1st? |
MsLeora | Nope, she's got nothing in her 1st house. I don't know whether she has no sense of self or she's a chameleon who can easily fit in with anyone. |
Randall | That's interesting. |

People probably perceive her as being real. Not preoccupied with making first impressions. Does that describe her? |
Valmu83 | Well i have also empty first, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th house..but issues in these houses are most important and painful to me than in any other house where I have planets. 1st. Even thou I'm quite confident I had to eventually start therapy to settle things from my past (childhood)& to figure out what I want from life. 4th. Lost connection to my roots at age 7..meaning: childhood home & relatives. No family of my own, wishing to have one. I have fragile sense of basic security (not trusting that life caries me). 7th. Not been been in serious relationship. Constantly feeling sad and lonely & missing loving partnership. 8th. Dad and very important granny died when I was teenager. Huge thing for me. Lot of traumatic experiences when I was child/ teenager. And not have had sex with anyone at age 33! So my focus and energy most important for me are most definitely in these houses but keys are lost. |
PlutoSurvivor | perhaps you may want to analyze your chart using a different house system. It may make more sense to you. I've had people come to me with placidus chart done up by someone else and they were confused. Then I explained the houses using equal house and suddenly with the perspective switched everything made sense.
|
Valmu83 | With Koch I still have empty 1st, 4th 6-8th houses and extra empty tenth to top of that. With equal same thing but Pluto is at my first house. That might be.. People notice my eyes quite often and I have strong will power. Also I had this miserable childhood. That's the thing that might made sense even thou u don't know enough about equal system to say what I think about its |

I don't know. To me, she can be very insecure when it comes to what she believes she owns. I mean, she can be unreasonably jealous in relationship. And this feeling mostly comes from a lack of confidence in herself and she feels the need to compare herself to others.

I tried placidus, whole, equal, and Koch houses and my 2nd and 5th houses still came up empty. I have to say I'm the opposite of you since these empty houses don't bother at all. |

Could you please give examples to elaborate it a bit more?? |
MsLeora | Oh wow. So I chose placidus method to do her natal chart and her 1st, 7th, 10th, and 12th houses were empty. However, only her 10th and 12th houses were empty in Koch and equal method. Her 1st, 10th, 12th were empty in whole signs method. Does it mean her truly empty houses are 10th and 12th only? And which method should I use now since they gave me different results? |

Well they may be "empty". But it most certainly does mean that the planet that rules those house cusps is making its presence felt. |
