blue moon | He's Sun Gemini. Women liked him. So did people who like football.
Here he is, playing 'the beautiful game':
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2HWUbFGHMU In his autobiography he said he said he wasn't political, he thought the Irish football teams should be united so they could get better results. In a times of conflict, he got on with all sides so I'm thinking, maybe Libra Rising? As well as his liking the finer things in life:- "I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I squandered."

blue moon | His natal chart, time unknown:
Unless you've never heard of him (like if you don't know anything about this particular sport), you will know that George was an alcoholic, and died of the drink. So did his mother. She took to drinking when the pressures of his fame got too much for her.
But he was well known for his charm. Not an aggressive drinker.
Belfast City Airport is now named after him. When I lived over there, nearly 20 years ago now, little kids still supported Manchester United because of George. At that point in time he was a football commentator on Sky TV, retired from his playing career.

Quinnie | Gemini Rising with venus and Uranus in the first or conjunct ascendant |
Quinnie | Wait maybe Aquarius Rising. Its got the Moon on there and the Moon holding the planets. wow what a pretty chart |
blue moon | she is handsome, she is pretty, she is the belle of Belfast city Well, I had a play and put the chart for 6am, at random. It gives Gemini Rising, and puts the Moon on the MC. |
23 | Wow, thats some chart! (with those kite-like configurations). I'd put the moon on the MC. Moon in aqu indicates popularity and because he was a popular soccer player, you'd put it on the MC. The 10th house is very narrow if you plug it in with moon in the 10th. I used a test time of 5am and it placed the moon in the 10th. It produced a Tau asc (24 deg) and the sun was in the first (6 deg, conj). I think somthing like that would be plausible because he has the rounded face of a tau and somewhat leonine hair. Putting the sun in the first would also indicate someone with a radiant and noticed personality/appearance. Also puts Ura in first - groundbreaker. So any deg of Tau asc where the moon is in the 10th is my bet. He's actually an uglier version of my partner (sorry to say!) |
Quinnie | That sounds good but isn't all that still possible with a Gemini ascendant though 23. The Taurus ascendant sounds good though |
Quinnie | Forgot to add. If he was Gemini ascendant the chart ruler would be in the 12th (another trait that seems to be in alot of famous charts as well as sun in the 12th) or if it wasTaurus ascendant Venus the chart ruler is in the first then? I def think his house was in the 12th because fame was thrust on him, he didn't go seeking it. |
23 | Yes I've thought of the sun being in the 12th for him and yes, famous people (esp political leaders) have this. However, I think there is something in his appearance that points to a first house sun. As Best's sun sits at about 0Gem28, you could have the asc sit at exactly at that point and still have a 10th house moon. I just don't think he's Gem rising though, he just wouldn't have the youthfulness of the double gem. Also having a tau asc would put maybe venus in the 2nd - surely that would lead to the bit of hedonism that he had.

I'm a ****ing genius!! (sorry tooting my horn) Look: http://www.astrologyinserbia.com/e/index.html George Best's time of birth is 5.02am! (I'm assuming that's right!) A wonderful example of Aqu shocking themselves! |
