T O P I C R E V I E Wlioneye68So, I'm sitting in my office at work, minding my own business, and I get this call from a head-hunter, a dude named Peter, who was referred to me by "who knows who" (he won't tell me)...and he wants me to apply for a inside sales/office manager position with a company that manufacters and sells explosion-proof electrical products. So, I consider it, then revamp my resume and email it to him. 3 days later, he wants to meet me. So we meet. We go for lunch, we talk about work stuff, but we also talk about Astrology for about 15 minutes. (I put that on my resume as one of my hobbies, and interpreting natal charts - careful to note that "I don't charge for it YET" LOL...) He happens to own a copy of Linda Goodman's 'Love Signs'. How crazy is that??!! I was unsure about putting that on my resume, but now I'm glad I did.So anyway, then after him and I met, he talked to the company he was working for, and they wanted to meet me the next day...so I met with a nice fellow (may have been gay) named Dave, and it went very well. So, now I'm facing the prospect of leaving my employer of 7 years, for $5000 - $8000 more per year (on average, it's a commission structure). I find it very exciting! But I'm having some separation anxieties as well. That's what's happening with me. Thank you, transiting Jupiter & Venus conjunct in my 10th house. I love you!! Saturn's ChildThat's quite a compliment...being wooed by a headhunter!! I know cause I used to be one. Some years ago when I lived in Houston and sought out qualified folks for Shell, Exxon, Brown & Root, etc. We only went after the best...so there you are!!! lioneye68 Saturn is sweet too, sometimes. He's conjunct my Mars, and sextile my asc. & MC. right now. I guess he's giving me the notorious Saturn reward that we read about. (with lovely Venus and generous Jupiter poking at him at the same time)pixelpixieThat is great news!!!Good for you!(You can do it!) lioneye68lol...that's a great smiley, Pix. Thanks. And thanks, Saturn's child...I feel even more lucky now (or something) thirteenok, the practical virgo in me says this:Commission structure. I have had friends who were very unhappy with the end results of this. BE VERY SURE OF WHAT PAY YOU WILL ACTUALLY RECEIVE AND CAN COUNT ON.oK, besides that... how exciting. I wish the best for you in this.SvetlanaMy God! I thought by "Headhunter" you mean like a hit man. ------------------We are the ones we've been waiting for.lioneye68thirteen, yes, I've considered that. And I think I made myself perfectly clear, in that I will not accept anything less than at least $5000 more than where I am now, and they are working out the commission points to meet that number, based on the LOWEST sales numbers in the past year. So, when it's a good month, I'll do better, and when it's slower, I'll still do ok. This is a company who basically has the market cornered in the oil refinery saturated area of Ft. McMurray (northern Alberta)- so they have a pretty constant market. Plus, with oil prices being as insane as they have been lately, there's huge profits coming out of that area, which spurs them to initiate big projects because their finacial future is looking so goddam rosy. We pay at the pumps, they pump it back into the community by spending billions on new projects. I'm pretty confident that I'll be better of financially there. That's not the cause for my own reservations at all. Svetlana That's what my room mate thought too when I told her.thirteenOk im glad you thought that through. Good luck. How's it going?
