T O P I C R E V I E WgoatcatWhat is Jupiter and how does Jupiter work in astrology? ------------------ http://virgingoat.tumblr.com http://instagram.com/imustbeacatTJupiter returns are always fun to look at. But like any planet in astrology, you have to look at it against your own personal chart to gain any understanding. Even if Jup is not in a strong position, like just simply Returning, it might still be aspecting a personal planet, or a conjunction/cluster of planets in your own chart at any time in your life.......so...take a look at where it is in the heavens and see how it is aspecting your own chart.Like any planet, "it works" in many different ways, at different times in your life, depending on your own chart.hope that helps a bit?somethingexcellentJupiter is expansion, recklessness, forward movement. Jupiter is finding a star and chasing after it. In a natal, Jupiter can often denote skills, how you go about your goals and what your goals generally are, and your general pattern of luck (which is always interesting to look at). Whatever it aspects, it tends to blow out of proportion and instill themes of optimism and activity. Some examples...my Jupiter is conjunct my Pluto. So how I go about my goals include charisma, I'm good at influencing groups, and I prefer to work without people seeing or monitoring me. Controlling. Also, being in Scorpio, when I'm spited, other people tend to defend me and choose my side or whoever attacked me tends to have bad things happen to them. I like to think it's the scorpion's tail, pricking away...My mumma has Sun conjunct Jupiter under a degree, in H1, and she has PRESENCE! She's really loud, personable, very jovial, laughs a lot and friendly. And she's a Virgo! But going along that train of thought, she's also scattered and reckless - she tends to take on more than she can remember, which I think is a mutable quality blow up. StarlightSmileSupremeTraditionally, well placed Jupiter is supposed to signify good fortune. It is the principle of expansion while Saturn's is contraction. So, if you have it in good aspect to a luminary, it will expand the qualities of that luminary for the better. To the moon, traditionally, it makes you a great nurturer and emotionally warm. You bring out good feelings in others. To the sun, it's qualities are enhanced/expanded...benevolence, bravery, chivalry, ego. Jupiter is fused with the soul's essence or purpose so whomever has this will exhibit the qualities of Jupiter, they will be apparent. It's a fortunate aspect along with Jupiter in good with the moon. With Mercury it expands the mental faculties. People respond positively to what you write or say, You can motivate others through communication.Venus - capacity to love fully.Mars - Creative drive, focus, initiative, and good luck so you can pretty much do what you want in life.Jupiter with Saturn is the principle of temperance. Expansion plus contraction. These planets work together so progress isn't too abrupt.Ascendant - considered a fortunate influence. Opportunity.MC - Can indicate career successDC - Other people benefit you.IC - someone with a good soul, nurturing ability, comfortable surroundings.General guide - where ever Jupiter is by house and sign you will experience opportunity and luck so if it is in house seven, you will gain through partnership, house four/real estate and property, house eight/ inheritance, house twelve/ helping others or being helped, house ten/career, house eleven - friends, mitigated by how strong or weak it is.House nine Jupiter is the most favorable placement.Freesia quote:Originally posted by StarlightSmileSupreme:Traditionally, well placed Jupiter is supposed to signify good fortune. I hear it's angular and my natal Jupiter squares a couple of planets of mine like Mars and Neptune. ------------------ http://virgingoat.tumblr.com http://instagram.com/imustbeacatStarlightSmileSupremeBeing Libra-like can benefit you, so look to this sign for opportunity. You could even benefit as a peacemaker of some kind, like when you try to keep others from arguing/fighting around you. Since it's in your first house, it will benefit you directly. It will put the emphasis on you. It's like, "how will this benefit me?" You like to know where you stand in relation to your world. Jupiter squares are kinda confusing. I read them as just being a bit unrealistic about goals and such. It's like going to the bank, taking out a loan on a risk, hoping everything works out. It can make someone really optimistic even when the situation is really dire.A square from Mars to Jupiter could mean you might be reluctant to take action when needed. Jupiter can give you an easy going attitude when placed in Libra and this sign likes to wait around for stuff to happen instead of being more proactive. Librans probably benefit more when they are willing to take the initiative. Jupiter/Neptune squares are kinda like denial of reality only not the same as Saturn. The attitude could be overly confident/optimistic when it's time to face reality and come up with a plan that will solve problems. Saturn squares to Neptune would be like standing on quicksand when trying to solve problems, while Jupiter/Neptune is more about saying "everything is going great, no need to worry about anything," when something goes wrong. Things are not as they seem.goatcat quote:Originally posted by StarlightSmileSupreme:Being Libra-like can benefit you, so look to this sign for opportunity. You could experience some kind of sudden loss in your public standing, reputation, or career, because of the square. Are you involved with religious activities? You could put a lot of energy into them if you are. EmpressMendezSounds about right. Well, as far as religion - Spiritual work (Spiritual/card readings in general). I did experience a loss similar to what you said in 2012, but it was kind of my fault as well. Thanks!! =DNow it makes sense. That square highly depends on my actions - practice what you preach kind of deal quote:Originally posted by StarlightSmileSupreme:Hello EM!I'd say you are a very good soul, people with Jupiter in Pisces are, and in the first house, you benefit from the goodwill of others. Speaking in a personal experience and with my limited knowledge of the planet, I find my timing with meeting people plays a part especially in relationships. My Jupiter is in the 5th house of Taurus and I tend to work well when things are slow and steady. My mars is Aquarius and when I meet with other people's Jupiter, these are unexpected short comings that are in and out in my life. Not sure if that's a Jupiter.StarlightSmileSupremeJupiter in Taurus can bring a lot of material possessions orocairionWhat could one expect of Jupiter in the 12th house, sextile to the Moon and Venus?.P.S: MsPrism, in case you read this, I replied to your email. Not sure if you got it.StarlightSmileSupremeI have Jupiter in twelve sextile to Venus (h10)quintile to Mars. It's a really fortunate influence, so is the trine and conjunction of the greater and lesser benefics. It's like having your own spirit guide who will never abandon and always help you whenever you need it. You are warm, sympathetic, charitable, helpful, understanding, kind.
