T O P I C R E V I E WdribabyI've read that Moon in Cancer composite is similar to having it in the 4th house which would make a couple comfortable with living together. Has this been true for anyone? GalacticCoreExplosion No, they are different. Houses are specfiic areas of life and Signs are personality related expression and attunement. Cancer is a sign that does tend towards being a homebody in an archetypal sense, but having composite Moon in Cancer does not mean that the couple will have a strong association with home environment (4th House). It just may mean that emotions between them may be heightened, subjective, self sensitive though sympathetic at other times, and/or a sort of childish quality at times (both in positive and negative senses). dribaby quote:Originally posted by GalacticCoreExplosion: No, they are different. Okay, got it! That makes a lot more sense..LibrapurrCancer comp. moon made it more comfortable for me. It doesn’t mean it’s the same as 4th. I need much personal space. However, I’d been often living with someone. And it was the first time when it felt comfortable.dribaby quote:Originally posted by Librapurr:Cancer comp. moon made it more comfortable for me. Hmm, try Scorp Moon, late Leo ASC conjunct early Virgo Mars, and conjunction of earlish Pisces Sun, Venus, and Mercury in the 7th. Though, I will say for the Scorp Moon, at least it is closely cusping Libra and conjunct late Libra Jupiter, so definitely lighter and more spiritual vibe. GalacticCoreExplosion With that said, I think Synastric is far, far more important than composite, Davidson, etc, because it shows the actual attraction and energy exchange dynamics. You can have the best composite etc with someone, and if the Synastric patterns aren't there to support same, likely nothing will ever happen.Librapurr quote:Originally posted by GalacticCoreExplosion: With that said, I think Synastric is far, far more important than composite, Davidson, etc, because it shows the actual attraction and energy exchange dynamics. It’s confusing the composite is defined often as how the others see your relationship, but still the many consider it to be the most important chart. I often can feel the energy and dynamic of composite with strong Pluto/Uranus early. I’ve usually get Pluto in synastry also, but it’s generational. I’d think I’m not supposed to feel it much if the composite doesn’t have it also with generation planets.Hikaru29 quote:Originally posted by dribaby: A rollercoaster ride that I'd pass on lol! How about a cradle formation in Synastry involving Moon, Venus and Neptune? GalacticCoreExplosion quote:Originally posted by Hikaru29: What synastric configurations will be extremely helpful? How about a cradle formation in Synastry involving Moon, Venus and Neptune? Hi, am not specifically aware of what a cradle formation is. But some common synastric chart comparison patterns I see between two particularly close and/or affecting people and type relationships are Sun same or opposite Sign of partner's Moon, ASC, Chart ruler, and/or DESC ruler. Moon same or opposite Sign of partner's Sun, Rising, Chart ruler, and/or DESC ruler. With Signs that have two rulers, I pay most attention to the faster moving one, but also do factor in the modern ruler as well. Also generally strong 7th and 1st House placements are quite common. Not uncommon are strong 5th, 4th, and/or 8th House placements or connections to the rulers. Synastry is very complex, a lot of data. It's hard to overly generalize or sum things up. Sexually/romantically two of the strongest patterns are Moon same or opposite Sign as Mars, and Venus same or opposite Sign as Mars. ESPECIALLY intense if one or both rules either the 1st, 5th, 7th, and/or 8th. Also pretty strong if one or both rules the Sun and/or Moon. Venus, Moon, Neptune combinations are very lovely for a sweet romanticism and seeing the best and most beautiful in each other. This is well provided it's balanced with more left brain and discernment oriented factors (such as strong Mercury contacts, strong Earth, especially Virgo and Capricorn, etc) and/or if both people are at least "middle aged" to older Souls so to speak. If one or the other is immature, it can be very worrisome, because one or both partners are often not seeing the other and their shadow clearly enough. For example, women with high empathy that fall for narcissistic and/or psychopathic men, often have a lot of Venus, Moon, and/or Neptune stuff going on, both in their own charts and/or with that partner. They just don't see them clearly, and there can be any number of reasons for the actual cause which the astrology is only reflecting in a symbolic language. Hikaru29@GCE, thanks for the information. This is a cradle formation - https://skepticalastrology.tumblr.com/post/131160963203/the-cradle-aka-the -basket-im-pushing-the-orb We’re both in our 40s. In natal he has Neptune trine/sextile Venus/Moon and I have Neptune conjunct/opposite Moon/Venus (in fire/air signs), and together they formed a cradle in Synastry. We have ASC-DSC conjunct and the cradle is on the axis. Sweet romanticism, you're right...seeing each other as ideal even though we're well aware of the flaws. We do have some earth - he's Virgo Sun/Mercury with Venus conjunct Saturn; I'm Taurus Sun/Mercury sextile Saturn, Mars trine Saturn. My Moon is conjunct his ASC. My DSC ruler is opposite his Moon which rules his 8th. My ASC ruler trine his Sun. His DSC ruler trine my Sun. We also have 1/4/5/7/8 overlays. We also have some difficult aspects in Synastry so there are challenges but somehow this relationship has become more and more gluey partly because of the feelings we give each other.
