waxlobster | Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post (apologies if not). I came upon some media coverage (unusual for me) about Johnny Depp and the alleged difficulty the public had in believing he has anger issues. This, to me, is fascinating from an astrological point of view. So I've written an article about it, for those who are interested, and am interested in feedback too of course: http://waxlobster.blogspot.co.uk/ ------------------ blog: http://waxlobster.blogspot.co.uk/ |

Aries23Degrees | I see that Uranus/Pluto conjunct in Virgo sitting on his Mars. Jupiter in Aries square Moon. I think most people are enamoured with the Mc in Taurus with Venus in Taurus there. Though its ruler(Venus) squared by Saturn in Aquarius, Saturn is dignified in Aqua-giving him a strongly quirky appeal to the public. Interestingly his Aqua Dsc is ruled by Uranus-which is part of the triple conjunction in Virgo. |
Sulkyarcher | It's also partly because he's never had a history of hitting any woman before! So it was hard for anyone to believe that he would do such a thing. |
hypatia238 | I don't understand the fascination with the masses with Johnny Depp, he looks so uninteresting and boring to me. |
waxlobster | Exactly the points Aries23Degrees. This is the power of the MC at work, backed up by the Mercury-Venus conjunction in the 10th. This article isn't about whether or not I like Johnny Depp, it's purely about how powerful the Uranus-Pluto conjunction of the 60s was and how extreme fame can give such a bias towards the 10th House. It's fascinating to me. Also Aries23 the points you mention about that reliable looking Saturn in the 7th ruling part of the power Mars-Uranus-Pluto conjunction. Very relevant indeed, it's when symbolism begins to overlap like that that fame occurs. I guess we all know that stellium people are more likely to be 'noticed' for just that reason, and that outer planetary transits will coincide. I often find myself watching a biopic and then checking the transits when fame occurs. It's so fascinating how often the chart can look pretty ordinary but because 3 outer planets form major aspects at the same time the person is catapulted into the public eye. :-)

Empty Spaces | I love his work and his style and the fact that even being good looking (I think he is) he almost only take weird roles on movies. I still thinking he is a great actor but that doesn't mean I put his behaviour under a rug. |
Taineberry | I was born very close to Johnny Depp's birthday and therefore share many of his aspects - like the Mars/Uranus/Pluto conjunction; the Mercury/Venus conjunction and the Saturn square to Mercury/Venus. Regarding the explosive Mars/Uranus/Pluto conjunction, I can confirm the tendency to be drawn to the unusual and not too concerned with convention. My energy levels are very erratic and comes in bursts. Almost like there is something that suddenly ignites and sets you off on a launch, but when it is over you kind of get stuck in a doldrum for a while until another ignition happens. Regarding temper, I think because of Virgo it normally takes the form of feeling irritated and it is quite internalized, not outwardly aggressive. BUT... there are occasions ... where I can hardly recognize my own self as something out of the blue can ignite a volcano. This is very RARE I must emphasize, but is has happened. If Johnny is similar, I can imagine that his anger when it is building up will probably not even be noticeable because it will remain extremely internalized for a long time, until the moment it explodes at which point it will take everyone including him by surprise. This rage is hard to control as it comes like a powerful bolt filled with energy and very unpredictable - so I can imagine it is possible for physical violence to erupt (although in my case I have never hit anyone in rage although I wanted to). BTW Saturn does help - it is widely opposite this conjunction and strong in my chart - which probably stops me from acting on my worst impulses! |
waxlobster | Hi Taineberry, Thank you for sharing how this feels for you, it's truly fascinating but of course makes absolute sense. I can see how the Mercury-Venus conjunction would always first seek to appease, and the Saturn square cause a block and possibly even a fear of confronting difficult issues. Especially when Saturn in Aquarius always wants to consider the other person to have equal rights. I guess patience with the irritant could take a priority. We do have to set up boundaries though, otherwise it damages our health. Obviously it's best to do this before it reaches a point of explosive energy, but I can understand how it could or would. The one thing I would add is that Moon in Capricorn is very inclined to detach and can 'freeze people out' very efficiently and quickly. I would assume that this would be Depp's go-to response and that this recent partner didn't allow him the escape route / recovery time and so violence occurred. Just having a quick look at his synastry with Amber Heard – her Mars conjunct his Capricorn Moon, the cool distancing approach would not have been possible. Her Saturn square the Mars-Uranus-Pluto square; you can almost hear pompous Saturn telling Mars that it's over-reacting and trying to squash the natural expression (Saturn to Mars is my least favourite aspect in synastry). His Saturn square her Venus, not the loving, present kind of partner she was hoping for. I'm getting the sense of him being 'an achievement' for her rather than somebody she truly loved (Mars in Capricorn, ruling Aries MC) and fantasies of being a fantasy woman (Libra Moon, square Neptune). (With someone that famous how difficult it must be to attract actual love, it would almost always be love of what you represent rather than who you are). Also though, he's been so busy being famous and adored he's not done the inner work. That Chiron-Pluto opposition is hiding issues, her Jupiter conjunct his Chiron and her Sun squaring the opposition was the biggest trigger. All the old buried insecurities in his psyche came up, Neptune is now transiting conjunct his Chiron but last year with eclipse at 9 degrees Virgo and all the other activity at this point (see my blog posts from last year, I seemed to be writing about this point for months!!) it would have been a tough time. Very tough. Taineberry I'm guessing you have a better placed Moon that Depp and different angles (? I'd be curious to know?) but thanks for giving me that insight. It really helped me step deeper into the chart. |
Taineberry | @WaxLobster. Thanks for your reply. I like keeping an eye on Johnny and his doings because of the similarities in our charts, and your analysis makes good sense. I think it is spot on. My moon is not in a fabulous position either - it is in Scorpio and inconjunct sun (Johnny's Capricorn moon is also in an inconjunct sign to his Gemini sun) which makes for a permanently restless relationship between the two trying to seek some kind of balance. Although I lack the detachment, coolness and ambition of Johnny's moon I make up for it regarding struggles to cope with intense emotions which I really don't like. My Saturn t-squares Merc/Ven and Moon/Nep and opposes the Mars/Uranus/Pluto conjunction. House-wise, my Mars/Uranus/Pluto falls into the 4th house, with Pluto just sneaking over the border to the 5th. So for me - it is my poor family that takes the brunt of it, as well as well as anything that threatens my sense of home, security and subconscious depths. |

I don’t, either. I also don’t understand the phase that he, and some famous people went through, of trashing hotel rooms. It’s just so rude. |

Hahaa! I first read it as "he looks so uninterested and bored" Now I can't unsee it! |

Not many would guess it’s conversation piece for a Vogue interview 😄 |
sis | I think it should be forbiden to read famous people's chart publicly. It is very dangerous. You do not know the person, you do not know how the soul of the person reacts to the aspects he was born with. using cookbook definitions and casting judgements and misleading people is so wrong. And there will be Karma attached to it. Having a temper is not the worst thing as long as you do not harm any living being... Tell me the hard aspects in your charts and let me do the very same thing you do to these famous people... paint you black with cookbook definitions...
