NYCdodger | Lets be real guys, how crazy do you go when someones personal planets (especially venus and mars) touches this angle/cusp? It can be a square as well. |
yungang_grotto | Mmhmmm! Good timing for this one! My last partner had his Mars on my MC. I definitely went a little crazy! I was head over heels for a minute there. Felt really energized on my path. It exploded though, the attraction and repulsion were very intense.. especially as my Pluto squares that point.. I have this axis reversal conjunction thing with someone right now and it feels pretty profound. Been thinking about it a lot. Found some fascinating stuff about the significance of the Midheaven recently.. will try to find it again and copy n paste when I've got time... |
NYCdodger | Glad im not the only one! Im starting to believe that planets/asteroids conjunct the angles (and the sign of that angle) are more significant than Planets conjunct other planets. Mainly because.. 1) Angles move incredible fast as well as the 12 houses. Faster than any planet making it more personal 2) They are the backbone to our soul. ASC/DSC reveals our surroundings and interactions. And MC/IC is the "spinal cord" to our self. IC being our root, and MC bringing it together consciously and effectively. 3) The angles/cusps are our "Cardinal houses", so they always represent where we start and build things so in synastry this can be a major deal. And lastly, i believe any hard aspect to the angle/cusp (conjunct and square) REALLY brings out a lot Just my opinion |
yungang_grotto | Yes.... IC/MC is the kundalini axis. Very significant.. |
NYCdodger | From Sasstrology regarding the angles "In essence, our relationships are determined by the archetype of the cardinal cross. Cardinal signs are known by the keyword ‘initiation.’ In other words, our cardinal houses, and our angles, get things going. This is how love makes the world go round. It’s no accident that our relationships are often the greatest spur to our spiritual growth. But, for some reason, angles are not treated with the respect that they deserve. While we’re all busy figuring out the meaning of the midpoint between Ceres and the Black Moon, the angles languish in confusion and anonymity. A lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of the rising sign itself, and mostly we relegate each angle half to one or two keywords: the Ascendant is ‘the mask,’ the IC represents ‘family,’ the Descendant is ‘partner,’ and the MC is ‘career.’ What a sad and simplistic description for so dynamic and active a cross." |
yungang_grotto | I had been reading of the MC's interpretation according to cosmobiology... it's integral to the spiritual path if the individual, their life on earth, the way they walk, if I remember correctly... my vision is of light when I think of those descriptions. My brain/being just translated it to light. I know it's associated with Saturn but i can't help thinking of the Sun also... maybe because my MC is Leo |
Selenite | Crazy. Current relationship has his Pluto conjunct my IC (and Venus), and my moon conjunct his IC (and NN), and my Mars trine his IC. But actually, I wouldn't call it going 'crazy.' It's more like going 'home.' |

What do you mean by the Kundalini axis? |

Yes NYC!! Thanks for the sasstrology bit, would really like to hear someone dive deeper on this. Why is it so overlooked/not used as an important tool very regularly in synastry?? |

Not just overlooked in synastry...but just in general. I think the main reason is because in this day and age everyone is so focused on the planets that they forget the "circle of life" and how it is divided in different ways. Cardinal energy is where everything begins and this is why the 4 angles are so important in understand who one is and is destined to be. The "magnet axis" which is referred to as the "ASC/DSC" reveals what draws us in and out of the world. It has much to do with what we interact with and what we attract. The "gravity axis" which is the "MC/IC" represents the connection between our personal Heaven and Earth. The IC represents our soul, who we are to the core, and we know, do, and feel instinctively. The MC represents how we grow and use those IC qualities to express and generate something in the world around us. The 4 angles are the blueprint to who we are while the planets are the outside influences that determine the way we experience those things. In synastry the angles play a great deal because it shows how we truly connect with the person. There is an immediate knowing and understand when they connect |

So interesting that you say "out of the world".. was reflecting last night on the dsc as I watched the sun go down... wondering if you might be willing to expand on what you've said there. Do you think the descendant might have another correspondence than relating? Does it draw us out of ourselves? Into the realm of the other and thus out/in simultaneously... I'm sort of muddled right now .. but yeah just thinking about this and wondering. I'm also growing interested in how squares to these axis operate, as well as squares to the nodes. Are these balance points? Do they describe a potential for finding the middle of the axis somehow? Along a circle... when do we find the middle of the wheel... you know? |
VirgoPILL | does it mean anything or how does both person affected when in synastry: Midheaven Quincunx Sun 3.33 Midheaven Sextile Moon 2.28 Midheaven Trine Mercury 0.24 Midheaven Trine Jupiter 5.61 Midheaven Square Uranus 1.18 Midheaven Square Chiron 1.62 Midheaven Conjunction Lilith 2.01 Midheaven Quincunx Node 1.77 |
NYCdodger | I believe the DSC allows us to understand others better and see their qualities. There is no focus on Ego here. We attract those qualities from others because we see them well. With the ASC, its the opposite. I believe they see that in us more transparently. The ASC/DSC is more physical, while the MC/IC is more emotional/spiritual We see our MC/IC as clear as day and we project these things in our everyday life readily. Hard aspects affect these angles powerfully. Conjunction and square. MC/IC goes deeper than ASC/DSC in my personal experience, but there's still a big deal with the ASC/DC Cant really answer the question regarding the nodes. They are also crucial of course though. Their house placements reveal a lot about where and how we manifest our charts.. |

The conjunctions, squares and quincunx definitely plays a big deal. The Midheaven reveals how we bring out our core qualities (IC) to the world. Its a very personal point and cusp (it doesn't have to touch the angle specifically. It being in the same sign/cusp will still affect it greatly) |

but don't you think that's too much effect on the person whose mc is touched by the other person's planets/points? i mean 8 seems too many to me. the other way around 5 aspects to midheaven.
