T O P I C R E V I E WMyVirgoMaskI'm not so sure about the Davidson composite chart. I keep hearing I should go by that for composite, that it's more accurate, etc, but I'm looking at my ex-husband and I's chart, and I swear the astro.com midpoint composite is SO much more accurate and telling than the Davidson. The Davidson just seems off for me, it doesn't even begin to show the key issues which were in the relationship. I've been playing around with both versions, and using a long-term relationship I've had as an experiment, which is handy. The astro.com is startlingly accurate for me. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, disagree, similar experiences, etc.. ?------------------"The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do. "VirgOhI like Harley Davidson's tooMyVirgoMaskSmarta**. LOL. katatonichaha i have to agree with both of you!! MVM i taught myself astrology and chart casting by using the people i knew best - long term friends, family, in-laws, couples i know, etc. the composites seem to work 95% of the time, and the other 5% could well be down to me not having all the info.i have mentioned one example elsewhere here - my ex and i, whose synastry is amazing (good and bad!) but whose composite perfectly describes our daughter. we were together 3 years before she was born, our first split happened before she was three, the final one when she was 7 (a lot of uranian energy) but the interesting thing is that our composite has its sun EXACTly on her moon, its moon EXACTLY on her sun, the ascendant is exactly on her venus, and it goes on down every single point on her chart!to say the purpose of our relationship might have been to have her would be a reasonable assumption. though we are soulmates we were destined not to stay together, too much uranus there! but we managed to have a great kid and pretty much cooperate on raising her. we divorced when she was 18 after exactly 18 years of marriage...this is just one example to illustrate why i find composites very workable!! i don't have such experience with the davison charts. one, for example, between two people born on opposite coasts, places the Relationship Chart in kansas - this doesn't compute for me in and of itself, nor does the chart make sense to me...however my practice with these charts is not extensive so i won't dismiss them offhand. let you know when i've worked with them more but your assessment strikes a chord with what i HAVE seen...darkdreamerInteresting, the composite has never really worked for me nor for any relationships I know. The only thing that seems to bring consistent results are a comparision of the natal charts and synastry. That is only my experience of course. If Composite works for you, great.I am sure there are others who have amazing results with the Davison chart.katatonicwell as i mentioned i am keeping an open mind about the davison charts. one thing that bothers/puzzles me is, for example: the chart for my daughter and me; i am nearly 60, she 25. the chart's birthdate is in 1966. how do i progress the chart of a 25 year relationship when its starting point is 42 years ago??Sei no Senshi quote: i am nearly 60, she 25. the chart's birthdate is in 1966. how do i progress the chart of a 25 year relationship when its starting point is 42 years ago??The same way anyone else would for any other relationship. Remember, people don't automatically meet when they're born, but they meet sometime afterwards. The Davison is set for a time inbetween two births, so the younger one in the relationship won't have been born yet. This makes the time of the first meeting to be very important and is what effectively "activates" a Davison.I wouldn't be surprised if there were some interesting alignments with the Davison on when you two "met", when she was born. The Davison will show everything, from your meeting, to your parting, and everything inbetween. It isn't a reference point of when a relationship "starts" but what a relationship is.katatonicthere is very little connection that i can see. the moment we met? when she was born? are we talking about progressing the chart to my age when she was born? the synastry is remarkable in its lack of contacts between her birthchart and the davison...there IS one major conjunction to MY natal IC...also, the birthtime on this chart is almost the same as mine, even though OUR birthtimes are 5 hours apart...??and if i am going to progress it at all i need to create a chart with a birthtime and place. what city is in the middle of the atlantic ocean???????!!MyVirgoMaskKatatonic....freaky chart stuff. Downright spooky actually. Astrological stuff like this continues to fascinate me...which is why I'm getting hooked. Senshi...I am sure once I become a little more educated on this subject, I will be able to grasp more of what you're talking about. All I have for now though is an observation from personal experience. And granted, while the regular composite works for my ex and I, it may not work for another relationship. Again, it's all just taking time to become more familiar with the stuff.Sei no Senshi quote:the synastry is remarkable in its lack of contacts between her birthchart and the davison...there IS one major conjunction to MY natal IC...Think beyond aspectual contact and consider receptions, too. Those are always interesting. quote:also, the birthtime on this chart is almost the same as mine, even though OUR birthtimes are 5 hours apart...??I'm assuming you set it with astro.com, right? Anyway, there's this little thing called "Time zones". So, if you were born in NY at 3:15pm, it isn't the same 3:15pm that's experianced in Las Angeles (being four hours behind). So, the L.A. 3:15pm would be the NY 7:15pm. So, it's not close to your birthtime at all. quote:and if i am going to progress it at all i need to create a chart with a birthtime and place. what city is in the middle of the atlantic ocean???????!!You don't need a town. You just need the latitude and longitude that it's set at. But, you can't use astro.com (as they make it mandatory to put in a town), so you'd have to go and get another astrology program. Astrolog is excellent for stuff like that. It's got a whole lot of stuff in it. @.@ It's overwhelming. quote:Senshi...I am sure once I become a little more educated on this subject, I will be able to grasp more of what you're talking about.
