T O P I C R E V I E WRainbowDayOk so I've got to say it... I LOVE poetry!, and one of my favourite poets is fellow aquarian Langston Hughes... I feel he explains my feelings so well, it's a comfort reading his poems...So I wandered really, if there's a poet that you like that perhaps shares some of your major aspects or placements that you feel really explains your feelings well? Ok so here's a little selection of Langston Hughes' poetry; Minstrel Man Because my mouthIs wide with laughterAnd my throatIs deep with song,You do not thinkI suffer afterI have held my painSo long?Because my mouthIs wide with laughter,You do not hearMy inner cry?Because my feetAre gay with dancing,You do not knowI die? Sea Calm How still,How strangely stillThe water is today,It is not goodFor waterTo be so still that way. The Dream Keeper Bring me all of your dreams,You dreamer,Bring me all yourHeart melodiesThat I may wrap themIn a blue cloud-clothAway from the too-rough fingersOf the world. My People The night is beautiful,So the faces of my people. The stars are beautiful,So the eyes of my people.Beautiful, also, is the sun.Beautiful, also, are the souls of my people. blue moonThis is mine, no clue about his astrological aspects, I'll try and find out. DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHTDo not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. I don't know this site though or if I can rely on the accuracy of the chart. augentierI read this poem in one of my high school english classes..I'm not sure why it struck me as beautiful and I still love it..I'm not outwardly romantic at all so I guess this is kind of a guilty pleasure When We Two Parted - Lord ByronWhen we two parted In silence and tears,Half broken-hearted To sever for years,Pale grew thy cheek and cold, Colder thy kiss;Truly that hour foretold Sorrow to this. The dew of the morning Sunk chill on my brow-- It felt like the warning Of what I feel now.Thy vows are all broken, And light is thy fame;I hear thy name spoken, And share in its shame. They name thee before me, A knell to mine ear;A shudder comes o'er me-- Why wert thou so dear? They know not I knew thee, Who knew thee too well--Long, long shall I rue thee, Too deeply to tell.In secret we met-- In silence I grieve,That thy heart could forget, Thy spirit deceive. If I should meet thee After long years,How should I greet thee?-- With silence and tears.Must be my watery love planets showing through (Scorp venus, Pisces mars)Lord Byron had a Cancer moon, how sweet :P------------------Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moonNo man is free who is not master of himself.Seeing Stars 7.21 aww. cool. I just started writing a poem last night. and Im going to draw some art to go along with it. but idk usually I start these things and never finish them.. but i think it will be a good poem Blue Moon, Dylan Thomas one of my favs!
