T O P I C R E V I E WMUSTANGHi,I am wondering a few things about reading aspects. First, do you bother to count aspects that are separating? Second, what do the little apostrophe things on top of a symbol(like a square, triangle, etc)in aspect mean? They aren't exactly a square or trine, but what are they? I hope this makes sense and you guys know what I'm talking about - I didn't really explain it to well...Thanks ------------------Sun Aqua, Moon Sagg, Asc TaurusSexyScorp103hey! ive been wondering the exact same thing!!! ive gotten a few charts from astro.com and some of the aspects have apostrophes, i think i even rememeber seeing some apostrophes in boxes in the chart where there wasnt even as aspect - reallly not sure what that means. I cant even figure out what the "a" and the "s" is with each aspect MUSTANGHi, The "a's and s's" mean separating and applying. I hope someone can answer our question!MUSTANGI found out what it means. The apostrophe shown with some aspects of the additional tables marks those aspects which have a large orb (above 50% of maximum orb), and which should probably be ignored. By doubling the number of planets, the probability of an aspect is increased, and orbs should be reduced accordingly. This is true for any chart which is the result of a combination of two different charts. So, it is to be ignored. Love"There is the theory that separating aspects in the birth map represent influences which have already been made manifest; while forming aspects, particularly in the progressed map, represent influences which are yet to be experienced."So if you applied that to synastry charts, maybe that would mean that the applying aspects would have a different effect than the separating ones...? Maybe the applying aspects are the ones that make more 'work' for the 2 people and the separating aspects are the easier aspects which do not require as much attention.Or, maybe I'm wrong since I'm just speculating here MUSTANGYes, Love, that makes sense. I've read that separating aspects are events that have already taken place. I actually need to know for interpreting natal transits and progressions, not synsastry. Do you think it works the same way with transits? For now, I'm just going to not pay attention to the separating aspects.------------------Sun Aqua, Moon Sagg, Asc Taurus
