jwhop | Naming names and kicking butt. Tulsi Gabbard slams Adam Schiff, John Brennan, and Big Tech as 'domestic enemies' more dangerous than Capitol rioters Emma Colton January 26, 2021 Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard slammed Rep. Adam Schiff, Big Tech, and former CIA director John Brennan as “domestic enemies” who are more dangerous than the rioters who stormed the Capitol. "The mob that stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 to try to stop Congress from carrying out its constitutional responsibilities were behaving like domestic enemies of our country," Gabbard said in a video she posted to her Twitter account Tuesday morning. The mob who stormed the capitol to try to stop Congress from carrying out its constitutional responsibilities were behaving like domestic enemies of our country. "But let’s be clear, the John Brennans, Adam Schiffs, and the oligarchs in Big Tech who are trying to undermine our constitutionally protected rights and turn our country into a police state with KGB-style surveillance are also domestic enemies, and much more powerful, and therefore dangerous, than the mob that stormed the Capitol,” she added. The former Hawaii congresswoman has repeatedly slammed a bill proposed by Schiff to combat domestic terrorism. She also has taken issue with Brennan’s comments that Biden’s nominees "are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can" on activities he says are similar to "insurgency movements." Gabbard broke with many in her party late last year when she said former President Donald Trump had her support in terminating Section 230, which provides liability protections to internet publishers. “@realDonaldTrump I fully support you on this. Please don’t back down. The freedom and future of our country is at stake,” Gabbard tweeted on Dec. 3. She also introduced a bill that would ban abortions once a baby in the womb can feel pain, as well as another anti-abortion bill that would protect babies born after an attempted abortion. Gabbard announced last year that she wouldn’t seek reelection for her seat in Congress and would instead focus on her presidential campaign, which she ultimately lost. In her Tuesday video, she also called upon Biden to denounce those in power who threaten to take “away our civil liberties endowed to us by our Creator.” “I call upon you, and all members of Congress from both parties to denounce these efforts by the likes of Brennan and others to take away our civil liberties that are endowed to us by our Creator and guaranteed in our Constitution. If you don’t stand up to these people now, then our country will be in great peril,” she said. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/tulsi-gabbard-schiff-brennan-big-tech |
BlueRoamer | Gabbard is a completely ludicrous vapid moron |
Belage | Tulsi better be careful. They can't handle the truth! Twitter will deplatform her in 3, 2, 1... |
Voix_de_la_Mer | Civil liberties are given to us by a 'Creator'? 'Civil anything' is a human construct. I really don't understand what the concept of a creator has to do with politics. ------------------ Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face ~ Florence Scovel Shinn ~ |
LuckyLeo | It’s a belief that was held by the people who founded our country and is in our founding documents. It’s the idea that human beings have certain rights given to us by our Creator and that a government cannot take them away or interfere with them (you have certain rights simply because you are born). It is a founding principle of our country. It may not make sense to those outside the U.S. but it is understood here. |

Surely, you don't believe our civil liberties are given to us by the government! If that were true, the same government could take those civil liberties away at will. |

I don't think in that way, but I understand now you've explained, thanks LuckyLeo. ------------------ Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face ~ Florence Scovel Shinn ~ |

Can you be locked in a cell and still state you have civil liberties?

Do you claim to be confined to a cell? Notice you didn't answer. Do you believe our civil liberties come from government? |

I believe civil liberties is a concept created by human beings. But it is absolutely something that can be taken from you by the government. Prison is only one example.

jwhop | "I believe civil liberties is a concept created by human beings. But it is absolutely something that can be taken from you by the government. Prison is only one example." One of the drawbacks of being adjudged guilty of a crime by one's peers is loss of certain freedoms. But for the other 300,000,000 citizens of the US do you think government has given them civil liberties and can take those liberties away at will of government? Btw, in what country do you reside? |
Voix_de_la_Mer | If the government enshrines it into law with the support of the public, and has the powers to take it from you, then I would say so, yes. If they can take it from you, then they are in control of it. This is not a problem unless the government is corrupt... My view is that things like 'civil liberties' and 'government' only exist as long as people believe in them, they are concepts. Just like money. Even morality does not exist independently of thought, morality is a choice. Building blocks of 'civilisation'. Just a big idea, and a good one. But its existence depends solely on people's belief in it. I'm in Bonnie Scotland. ------------------ Face a situation fearlessly, and there is no situation to face ~ Florence Scovel Shinn ~ |

Because Trump supporters tried to have people killed, when they wouldn't overthrow an election that brought us a new President. |
Randall | Those extremists weren't Trump supporters. |

Belage | I looked at pictures of the Capitol "insurrection". I didn't see any of the blood thirsty insurrectionists carrying assault weapons. I didn't see anyone of them shooting people. Yes, they broke into the Capitol building, but for a so called coup, that was rather lame. There have been better coups in banana republics with people armed with machetes. Not saying I approve of what they did. I DON'T APPROVE! But that incident has been so overblown precisely to justify the new police state that they couldn't even put together when our cities were burning this past summer. After condoning, allowing, supporting, bailing out lawlessness all during last year when it suited them, the dems are going to ride that Capitol insurrection train until the wheels fall off. Never let a good crisis go to waste. I have very few regrets in my life, but if there is one thing I regret, is to have given them my vote in all those previous elections. |
