T O P I C R E V I E WXenaGood article here: http://www.jibberjobber.com/blog/archives/956 starr33I was unemployed for a long time until the fall of 2007. It can be the most depressing period in one's life. I looked for work every day and almost began to feel worthless. "If someone would just give me a blasted break..." Although I was taking five courses at the time, I made myself revamp my resume with help from job descriptions on the net that came close to my work experience and tasks I wouldn't mind doing. My focus was the file clerking tasks, whether medical, law, or business. And what do you know, I now work as a medical records clerk in a gastroenterology office. It's only part-time, but I am in school full-time after all. I'm glad I didn't give up, what choice did I have? When school's done, I hope the search for full-time work won't be as frustrating. blue moonBeen there.SunnyRainsdone that...Looked for months before the job I have now and out of frustration applied at a temporary agency and they found me this job very quickly. A temp to hire job and I've been here almost 4 years..Good luck!DervishBtw, someone I know on unemployment was lied to by her case worker (or whatever) and told her benefits would run out unless she got a job--ANY job. So she got a temporary at McDonald's. No way she could live on that, but it was work, and thought between that and her unemployment, it would help as she kept looking for a job.Turned out that she'd continued to get benefits had she not taken that job. Even worse, now that she HAD, her benefits were readjusted to minimum wage (at McDonalds). She came very close to becoming homeless, losing her pets, and all that because of an evil bureaucrat. Anyway, just pointing it out in case anyone else ever finds one's self in that same position.
