charlie | What I mean is: we all have aspects that make us “this and that”. Someone might have Neptune conjunct Cap DSC for example and now attracts Neptune/Pisces folks a lot but it’s not REALLY working in the end. So I’m wondering: where to look at for “the core”?? |
WhiteBirds | The Sun. It is our heart |
Moonbeth | Sun |
vansio | Um the part that no one sees at first glance but you absolutely are? Moon and even the sign on your IC Hence why in traditional Indian astrology “star signs” are Moon placements in 27 nakashtras. The Moon orbits around our Earth Yeah we’re able to call out this-and-that person by their Sun Virgo or Leo or Scorpio or Gemini or whatever in nature, but imo, that’s not who they are—sun is ego-function (which is ours to have but isn’t our core) what makes it so typical. |
anonymidarkness | I think it might not be Moon, Jupiter alone supposedly has 67 moons, now if we do take that into context for someone having a strong Jupiter, it might not play out to be the core really. Planets do revolve around Sun tho, or so is said, lol. I think it differs accordingly tho that being said, for someone with a strong mars, the martian themes will come to be the core at the end of the day, and if the other person cant catch that drift...yada yada loll |
Stawr | I would guess Moon and IC |
Aries23Degrees | The core of who you are imo, is that part of you that is ETERNAL. And I think that that is the Sun. |
anonymidarkness | Sun dies tho... |

So do we 😝 |
nomad-monad | IMO, the core of a person, astrologically speaking, is that which carries all the astrological influences. It is the empty natal chart of pure awareness. This precedes the impressed astrological personality. We are alive/aware before we are born/get our chart placements. The core of the person is thus being a receptor, and astrology provide a framework for responding to that which is received in a way that benefits the maturation of the 'soul'. In terms of your 'actual' question, the 'core' of someone is I suppose - if not the Sun - that which is most strongly 'there' by placement/aspect. |
hypatia238 | For me is Neptune in saggy on my AC which is the Focal point/APEX of my SUN opposite MOON Tsquare and falls in an angle. Actually THE CORE is the midpoint of your SUN and MOON. Why are we over valuing the male archetype of the sun when the moon is so innate in us?? The Core is where your spirit (SUN) and your soul meet (MOON). Also if the SUN is the YAN and the MOON the YIN, again the midpoint of your CORE is were this two points meet. |

So, my core would then be Libra Pluto 2H as it’s the midpoint to my Sun/Moon. |

I agree with this  |
Aries Eagle | Imo the Sun takes the big part, especially for males. |

Cool, I have Sun/Moon midpoint conjunct Mars in 8th. That explains many things for me. |
